Thinking of playing a round of golf on Monday. Any one able to recommend a course in Aberdeen/shire that isn't too expensive as still a bit of a novice.

Aboyne is very nice. I used to be a member there many many many moons ago.

 

Other favs of mine are Ballater, Braemar, Turriff and Duff House.

As was I.......... played thirty six holes at Braemar couple of weeks ago. Nice easy course for beginners and only about 4500 yards.

The rough just off the greens look way too tough but the same for all the players I suppose.

 

Good luck and stick in there, you have a dream round and a few others fuck up and you won't be far away, looking like a good pay day regardless.

Council course so something like £18.

 

Better playing Nigg Bay if cost and travel is an issue

Balnagask isnae bad, can usually grab a cheeky 9 holes without paying late in the evening; but avoid Auchmill like the plague, it's a shitehole!

 

BTW, anyone ken any decent pitch and putt courses in aberdeen?

Shitehole it may be, but it is the supplier of one hole (and probably the favourite) of ChutmeyLove's Round of 18 you can do with just a putter. Which there are only eleven holes on so far.

Usually enjoy Kemnay. Good course not room far out from town.

dunecht house is magic, Aberdeen's very own augusta. it even has an amen corner!
