The Boofon
Bloody hell what is happening to our club? This isn't right. There will soon be nothing to moan about. Link to comment
fifered
Jesus, we're actually looking like a football club with a clue. 1 Link to comment
daytripping
Where's the money coming from for all these appointments, good to see some quality come in and the scouting network improved but it won't come cheap. Link to comment
Redstar
Some of the top earners have left...what has been brought in will not have used up all the wages of those who have left...all about using the budget with a bit of Savvy...maybe Dod Yule has "stepped up to the plate"? Link to comment

Yet another smart move from the club. Baffling, really baffling. Link to comment

Baffling, really baffling. Indeed it is baffling. Why does the club suddenly stop acting like imbeciles after 20 years of almost non-stop imbecility? Has Milne died? If not then I can only assume there's some sort of angle to this, where it only seems like we've made a smart appointment, but in fact it's heralding some new and amusing act of imbecileness. I await events with folded arms and a look of suspicion. Link to comment

I await events with folded arms and a look of suspicion. I think half the problem is, we've had a succession of managers who've been allowed to set their own goals and aspirations and none of this has been challenged by anyone, let alone the Chairman himself. Autonomy has been the key word. Duncan Fraser has been too busy trying to put the plans together for a new stadium, or has his fingers in too many SPL pies. I don't think it's any surprise that since Yule's came on board, things have changed. First Brown was moved (I think had he had the choice, he'd have chosen to remain in place as our Manager). Then the savvy appointment of McInnes, over the lesser tested Adams. Next, pretty much everything that McInnes has asked for, has been implemented. So give him next season on a limited budget and if he shows promise, back him to the hilt.v Link to comment

Yeeees, but this is Aberdeen Football club. Just because they say they're going to team up with African sides and bring the best and brightest of African tanlent to the club doesn't mean they'll do that. Just because they say they'll build a new stadium doesn't mean they'll do it. Just because they say they'll build training facilities doesn't mean they'll do it. Just because they say they'll listen to the fans doesn't mean they'll do anything but treat the fans like shite. Just because they say they'll donate circa 675,000 pounds of directors money into transfer funds (no, I didn't forget... I have a looong fucking memory, Mr Milne) doesn't mean they'll do it. Just because they say shite is brown and the sky is blue is no reason to not check. Just because they say this new hire is the greatest thing since the last new hire (as in the Heid of Community... *ahem) doesn't mean they've any intention of using him for what they say he'll be used for. I've watched this club lie to our faces for nigh on 20 years, and I don't believe a fucking thing they say at face value. Folded arms... look of suspicion. That's all they'll get from me until they show me different. Link to comment

Biggest diference so far is AFC havent said a word about who they were signing until its done and they havent said anything about any of these behind the scenes changes, no promises unfulfilled just get oot, sort it oot and then say look at fit we've done now. Just hope some of this transfers onto the pitch. 1 Link to comment

Mikeyboy1903
More to come ...... Which is good ... Out with the old and in with the new. If something isn't working in a football club and you've tried all plausible routes it's time for change. Link to comment
gla5gowdon
Wow. I know McInnes has been talking a lot (even before he was officially appointed) about restructuring the club from top to bottom. He seems to have convinced the board anyway. Time will tell. Link to comment

King Street Loon
There's obviously something good afoot down Pittodrie Street. There are no doubt people on here that know certain things or are aware of imminent change or changes.Hopefully these changes continue and we continue to benifit. It begs the question as to what exactly has been going on in the boardroom over the Milne stewardship and why has it taken now for someone to take a firm grasp of things and say 'hud on a minute, this place is a fucking shambles'. We've been treading water for too long. And the legs are getting tired. Link to comment

ericblack4boss
about fucking time the whole scouting set up was revamped, to have the names of craig Robertson, and Scott calderwood as head scouts in the past 5 years was a fucking joke, i hope we are keeping Weir, and Andy Ritchie on the books too. so the question is is "shitey" Craig Robertson getting / been dunted. i think we can expect the leightons coat must be on a shouglie peg too. also hope we look at the lower divisions in Scotland there are some really good young players there i would be happy to see us take a gamble on some of them, ok so if it does'nt work out then fine thats a chance i'd be willing to take with a young home bred player. barassie_afc
I cant assess Richardson as I dont know enough what he can do, however seems the right thing to do, and assume Willie Miller's drinking buddy is no longer employed Link to comment
ericblack4boss
the list of clubs that Richardson has worked with is not too illustrious, but they are clubs that would have similar budgest as us so that should enable him to know the type of player we can look at the lower leagues in England are potential gold mines in the last 10 years good players have been procured by other SPL clubs who obviously had a better grasp of the market there.
