Bobby Connor
Am thinking Rocky IV. Paulie's robot. USA boxing glove exploding against Soviet boxing glove. Absolutely awesome. Then again, Back to The Future and the Goonies couldn't have been made in any other decade... hmm... but time is running out for flying cars and hover boards by 2015 which is a massive black mark against the Back to the Future franchise. Lying bastards! Link to comment

Frank Butcher
Would not argue with any of the above. But I always liked See No Evil Hear No evil. Oh and Police Academy was good too. Link to comment

tutankamun
Noticed a few 70s films sneaking in here. Airplane, The Shining and Blues Brothers are essentially 70s movies. As good as they are, there's no way they are the 'ultimate 80s movie'. Link to comment

Dal Riata Don
Trading Places Sums up the 80's boom and bust mentality and the dilution of class and racial barriers provided by money. Also shows a moral decline or the greater acceptance of people making do due to hard economic times i.e. the leading lady is a prostitute, again acceptable due to money. Ends with them all seemingly on their own Island. Very 80's. Similar to the above: Wall Street Also Ferris Bullers Day Off as mentioned, and I'd add Beverly Hills Cop II. Link to comment

So qualifies I reckon.I'd also like to add a Nightmare on Elm St. Freddy was an iconic horror figure from the 80's. Link to comment
