Dmm1197
He was back to his usual rubbish today, missed a few chances that it would have been easier to score. I have never rated/ liked him and I believe we should get rid of him. 4 11 Link to comment
K-9
Get a grip!! Great convincing win - plenty chat in match thread - yet someone starts a thread slating one of our players after that? I despair!! 13 1 Link to comment
King Street Loon
Got to agree. with K9 here. As much as I don't rate Magennis, today isn't the time to start a thread advocating the punting of him.He played his part in a good, solid win today. Same goes for Langfield. He was solid today and his kicking was far better than previous. I suggest locking this thread, Magennis is going nowhere having signed an extension and is obviously in the managers plans(unfortunately). 4 Link to comment
10MenWent2Mow
Any thread that discusses his ineptitude is welcome. He'll never be a footballer, he never has been. Why he commands a squad place, let alone almost cult hero status totally baffles me. 1 5 Link to comment
newcastlered
The first miss looked inexcusable but the second was great play, don't think any of our strikers could have created that sort of chance from nothing 1 Link to comment

Eastcoastdon
Notice how you didn't mention mcginns miss which was identical. How not?? Just because he is our hero and best player from last season. Get a grip who started this post. It's ridiculous to even state this as you know fine well yourself that magennis isn't going to get binned and if he did then it wouldn't be until next season. Waste of cyber ink posting this! 3 Link to comment

Just typical though that 1st game in as usual a poster who dampens the day and speaks about sonething we already know. On repeat consistentlyThe problem with happy clappers is they are textbook manic bipolar nutters. If Killie scored with Boyd's second shot the debate would be much more volcanic than this. Boyd nearly had two goals from two shots, that's the type of quality we need. The chance you speak off when magennis broke clear 'expertly' fails to mention his second touch which was terrible, he was never in control of the ball. You also don't mention his shin over the bar? Or his square head? He's an athlete that causes physically weaker teams problems but he has a ceiling of ability which isn't good enough. 1 1 Link to comment
muttonhumper
Magennis missed badly for the one that should "of" put us 3-0 up,He probably should have done better for the chance he was clean through as well. But I think it's fair to say if that pap Vernon had been playing he wouldn't have had a sniff of either. Also, Mcginn's misses were 10 times worse..at least Magennis actually made firm contact with the ball.Where are the thread's slating him? 1 Link to comment
RUL
Because 9 times out of 10 mcginn scores...9 times out of 10 magenniss misses. I understand where folk are coming for but we are do close to having a really good team do its frustrating when boys like him, who are clearly rank, are still hanging about. Defo need a fullback too 1 1 Link to comment
Sonoftherock
He was pretty poor today but this is just another terrible thread by a terrible 12 year old poster I disagree. This is football forum for discussion of Aberdeen Football Club. Josh Magennis is a player, perhaps more than anyone at AFC right now, who polarises opinion. This is a valid topic IMO. Just because we've won a game and played very well, it doesn't mean that members should be banned from raising any concerns. IMO, If players are playing shite then far better supporters use the medium of AFC Chat to whinge about them, rather than shouting abuse from the stands. If we start locking threads that are being critical of players/manager, etc... then we don't have forum. Link to comment

Defo need a fullback too Well, like I say. At least yesterday Magennis actually managed to kick the ball.2 times out of 2, right in front of goal, McGiinn didn't. Hopefully he can sort that out in the coming weeks and the pressure of being our goalden boy is something he will be able to handle.Because he didn't handle that pressure at all yesterday. Nervous attempts at finishing and completely lacking in composure.Fingers crossed it's a one off. 1 Link to comment

tup
I agree that Magennis is poor but the time to get rid of him was end of last season when we had the opportunity. Now that he's still around we may as well get behind him. 4 Link to comment
The Boofon
Magennis is what he is. Yes he'd a glaring miss and he was wrong to round the keeper when clean through but he also shows some nice stuff on occasion. Correct me if I'm wrong but was it not him who whipped the ball in to lay it onto McGinn on a plate when he fresh aired it? I know McGinn played the ball in for Magennis' miss and thought they swopped roles for the other. Zola clearly not match fit but I can see something there. He was unlucky first half when he made the Killie defender look a right cunt and turned him but the ref gave a foul when he did fuck all wrong. A couple of wild swing and misses but a decent debut for a guy who clearly hasn't had a pre season. When Flood got the second I thought the poor cunt was going to keel over in his attempt to get over and congratulate him. He's clearly not the same skill level and I'm not comparing him as such but Zola reminds me of Drogba. Big powerful clumsy looking forward who can knock balls down and play folk in. Both black as well which may help with the comparison I guess. Link to comment

I like the way Zola...instead of heeding it...taks it doon on his chest.Aye, it looks like he's gan to heed it...but he just sort of eases back and lets the ba' fa' on his paps.Decent at retaining possession.Hopefully he can dee a trick for us.And as mentioned in another thread, some size o' fucking cock.Thing like a baby seal wi' a pumpkin in it's moo. 1 Link to comment

McInnes clearly likes his players to play with tempo and energy which is likely why Magennis is in favour. I have no problems with big Josh. Yes wish he could finish more of the chances created but I'd rather have him on as an impact player than the likes of Fallon who would struggle to change his socks let alone a game. 1 Link to comment
1983
Why are we speaking about Fallon? Irrelevant. Have the league instructed a new rule requiring all teams to field at least one donkey? I would prefer to have a tiny cock than no cock, but then again, if i'm choosing, why don't I just choose a big cock? 1 Link to comment
hopalong
Zola was a horse yesterday but first game and possibly in at the deep end. Slow as fuck but reckon he will come good. He got in the way on two occasion when the ball was coming through for Mcginn. Anyhow, was glad to see Josh coming. Not the greatest but he turned games around before simply by being big and direct. Not sure why he gets as much stick as he does. No worse yesterday than our best player last season. Looked a little out of his depth starting a game up front as in FC Twente but maybe his confidence can grow. If folk support instead of slate. Haters love to hate eh. Hope to fuck he has some blinding goals and a few winners. 1 Link to comment

The lads got his opinion, and to be honest I don't really disagree with him as I'd be happier if Joshua's wage was taken up by someone who is going to improve and contribute more. But he's not going anywhere for another year yet, so I'll have to put up with it/him. Guest
Magennis was superb last season when he scored those two fantastic goals in front of the RDS. Great touches and composure. He sadly lacked that yesterday, but give him more and more game time as an out and out striker, and he'll do well. He has fantastic strength and athletic ability, and wins more than his fair share of 50/50's. I like Josh and think he's a rough diamond. He also gives his absolute all for Aberdeen and his attitude must be infectious. Threads like this are an embarrassment, after the best start to a season for as long as I can recall. Link to comment

Redstar
There's a fair chance this thread has been started by one of Clangers sycophantic bum-boys to deflect from "the prick between the sticks"...Magennis is nowhere near the level of shitness displayed by the Paisley Spastic season after season. 2 2 Link to comment
