Afc Have Best Midfield In Scotland

No they dont celtic do and have greater depth , if one of the three get injured we are fucked , take a reality pill

Correct. What we need to consistantly compete in the league is, not just ability, but competitive mentality. Flood was by far the most hungry player on the pitch today, not because he was being told to, but because it's natural to him. Unfortunately if he gets injured we'll be missing two key components - a footballing brain but also the hunger. We need to improve throughout the team on that. Magennis not only had a shocker but also displayed a very poor attitude. He missed a sitter and from then on he was desperately trying to not bust a gut to get into another position to score - he was scared of making another mistake and instead of showing strength he cowered. Get rid.

Highlighted by the fact that he was caught offside from a Langfield launch up the park then proceeded to flap his arms and point in Langfields direction as if to blame the keeper, and deflect away from his own laziness in getting back onside.

our midfield is looking very good yesterday we need to be clever how we use them - when can we rest them, when can we sub them etc and be smart about it without putting ourselves under pressure

Hayes probably most interesting one yesterday as pre season probably suggested Pawlett to be picked ahead of him - but he proved any doubters wrong.

Robson starting right mid was odd but worked fine

It's probably safe to say we have a better midfield than we have in a good number of years.

Still not convinced Robson is going to go the distance, however... this league is 100 miles an hour, and his old legs will suffer.

Indeed, 3 years ago on the first game of the season, Hartley scored a hatrick, with much praise directed towards him.

We all seen how that panned out during the season.

Robson won't last a full season, playing week in, week out. Don't think anyone at the club would be counting on him doing so either.... the young lads like Low and Storie will get their chance at some point and if we're going to be successful, they'll need to be capable of pulling their weight this season.

I can see the benefit of Robson teaching the young loons the trade, but the downside... and it's a pretty significant downside... is that as the season wears on it's possible, if not likely, that Robson will become more and more of a passenger. And we really don't have that big a squad.

Severin's first couple of seasons here he was incredible. Best midfielder we've had in those years this century I reckon. Think if he got a Championship team in 2004 after leaving Hearts he'd have made a lot of cash for himself... ah well he ended up with us! Went downhill once he got the captaincy and was shifted around the park though... dunno who was responsible for that. Probably Mark McGhee or something.

:clangers2: The last time someone opened a can of worms as large as this, a whole plane got infested. They made a movie about it but for the life of me I can't remember what it was called. The Notebook I think.
