Mikeyboy1903
Called up to the Scotland Under 21's .... Well done, Just don't become billy big shoes. Link to comment
minijc
Fair play to the lad but got to question the standard of players at that age group if he is getting in to the squad, terrible distribution no real positional sense and always gets caught out, he's young and can only get better ( I hope) reminds me a lot of Richard Buckley who was horrific. 1 Link to comment
Mr Brightside
Always good to see young Aberdeen players in the national setup, will be good experience for him too. Link to comment
Guest
He's had U21 call ups before he picked up his leg injury last season. Link to comment
GK55
Young player, still a lot to learn...good on him. At fault for the goal on Saturday IMO. 1 Link to comment
WillemVan
Clark Robertson has the potential to be a good left back for us but he needs to cut out the unforced errors. Hopefully with experience his decision making and concentration will improve but at this level you need to learn fast. 1 Link to comment
Kilkito
I don't see any potential with Robertson whatsoever, he's not good in the air, he's not pacey, he's not strong in the tackle, he's not strong in general, his positional sense is woeful, he can't go forward with the ball, and he can't pass..... What is it he's shown to suggest he could be a player? I'm not saying he wont ever become a player, but he's got a long way to go! I did think he started to get better at the start of last season, but he regressed as the season went on, and was poor again on Saturday. Link to comment
stirlingsheep
He's not good enough to play at that level, and McInnes should tell him that before he goes to meet up with the squad. Link to comment

SkyeDon
Don't rate him just now. However, he is still young and I think he deserves at least some time to improve. Link to comment
tightbreeks
is he quite a shy lad? maybe with his pals in training he's more involved and vocal? just in the game he needs to be a bit more loose and focused, stop worrying and just get on with it. a wee sneaky snort of whisky 10 mins before the game might take the edge off. Dynamo
He young, probably played less than 30 times for the team and will learn. Let's see how he goes this season. I know he's currently no world beater but lets encourage the youngsters instead of getting on their backs. 5 Link to comment
tightbreeks
he must be decent or else why's he getting a game, I think our squad at the moment doesn't need to play a best of a bad bunch for any position. the lad needs a fergie man management style gee up. Link to comment
WillemVan
Is anyone old enough to remember how bad Anderson was when he first broke into the team? I thought he had no chance of making it, look how good a player he turned out to be. Link to comment
WillemVan
He's got a good left foot and has good height. He played well against Twente and did some good things against Killie, unfortunately it's the couple of mistakes that stand out from his performance. I don't see any potential with Robertson whatsoever, he's not good in the air, he's not pacey, he's not strong in the tackle, he's not strong in general, his positional sense is woeful, he can't go forward with the ball, and he can't pass..... Redstar
Some of the older punters will remember another Robertson at full back...who went on to do a decent job for us...admittedly he also went on to take the hun shilling... but that aside he was decent for us before his mind got corrupted...give Clark a chance...he's doing a dirty job...but someone has to do it. I thought he had no chance of making it, look how good a player he turned out to be.Was just away to post this exact thing. I mind seeing Anderson get torn to shreds at easter Road one time. Developed into a great defender though. Folk are far to quick to jump on the back of youngsters. Fyvie had it, now its Robertson. Let mcinnes and his coaches work with him, if there's no improvement fine but give the lad a chance for goodness sake. Link to comment
tightbreeks
like Anderson, I think confidence will play a huge part for him. when Anderson went south, the first thing he did was give away a penalty for being over eager. lost them the game, and that was that. Link to comment
K-9
I remember Scott Muirhead was awful when he broke into first team when he was young lad. Turned out the reason was cause he was shite!! Link to comment

Anyone remember a game against the Tims at Pittodrie, where we're pretty much coasting against the Green filth, until a young Davie Robertson takes it upon himself to simply punch the ball to safety from inside our own box? Penalty. For some reason that incident stands out, because I practically had to hold my mate back from jumping the wall and killing Robertson... fucking raging he was. Took about four hours of solid drinking for him to calm doon. Link to comment

I thought he had no chance of making it, look how good a player he turned out to be. He was absolutely terrible, worst than Robertson from my memory. Andersons early years produced some of the most inept performances I've seen at Pittodrie. From the cut of him, I was amazed he'd made it anywhere near professional football. If anyone who was watching Aberdeen at that point could claim to have confidently predicted that he'd become the player he did, then they are lying. However, as K-9 says, Robertson might be performing poorly, because maybe he is just shite. No guarantees at this stage either way. Fingers crossed for him. We could really do with him emerging as a solid SPL-level fullback. Link to comment
K-9
I wouldn't say shite - just nae good enough for us and where we want to be. Small chance he could grow into star but seen most of his 57 games and still plenty fingers left when counting how many he looked the part. Link to comment

Kilkito
I was at that game to, in the Main Stand at Celtic Park, had no idea why Robertson jumped up and punched the cross when it was going to no-one and there was no danger, I can still picture it vividly. My day was les eventful than MH's thankfully! They were great days when it was unusual that mob beat us! Link to comment
buchanskii
Out for 12 weeks after a knee operation, pity because thought he started to improve recently... Aberdeen FC @AberdeenFCDM:Chris Clark has a slight tightness, Clark Robertson is out for 12 weeks which is a real shame. Link to comment
Byrne Baby Byrne
Agree. Bit less pressure on him with the team doing well and Considine back too. You never know... he might just make it yet! Link to comment
northernlights
Have seen Robertson in a few games this year. At Tynecastle, Easter Road and in the cup game against Falkirk. He did well in all those matches I thought. His positional sense, passing and all-round defending were good. He has shown he is capable of putting a decent cross in to the box as well. He does not make many mistakes. Shame to lose him at this stage. Luckily we've got Considine, Reynolds, Robson, Low and Wylde that can all cover that position. Hope he makes a good recovery all the same. COYR Link to comment
