DandyDon KD
Heard that at the Motherwell game on Sunday, Aberdeen fans are bringing red balloons and letting them go when the Aberdeen team come out. Just like we did at Hibs last season. Should be good so bring your red balloons. Link to comment

Same thing as balloons! It just looks good. There is no difference. I am presuming that you didn't like any card displays either then? The ones at Pittodrie in Europe, in the cup? Also you didn't like the balloons at hibs last year? Link to comment
buchanskii
How many fans are we expecting to travel like? Would look a bit naff if there are only a few hundred folk chucking balloons on to the pitch when there will be 22 already on it 1 Link to comment

Dynamo
There'll surely be a good away support on Sunday? 1,500? Anyway, balloons, card displays are all well and good but back it up with standing and singing then you'll have a good support. Link to comment

I heard a couple thousand (could be terribly wrong) but I suppose that it is hard to tell being pay at the gate. How much does the bit we get hold? Link to comment

Our away support is always very vocal. Link to comment
DandyDon KD
http://gifsoup.com/view/3527226/ha-gay.htmlCan you explain on how to organise a display is "gay"? Are/were the red ultras "gay"? Tbh that is really quite low. Link to comment
StandFree1982
Everyone going should take a recorded (the musical instrument) and play When The Red Go Marching In. That would look and sound ACE. Link to comment

DandyDon KD
So it was crap at Hibs? And why would I care if you don't like my Facebook page? There is 2,852 people who currently do like it, so that shows you that it can't be that bad. Also gay is a crap offence. Link to comment
tommo1903
Have you got some balloons left over from your last birthday party DandyDon KD? Or did you burst them all when you were on the bouncy castle? Link to comment
DandyDon KD
We were/are trying with balloons because it was much cheaper and easier than setting out cards. All that the page was/are trying to do is get a display which (for us) would be free. I respect that you hate my page and the idea of balloons. However as I said before, we were/are just trying to get something to happen. I understand that it will probably be a fail and that nothing will happen with it but at least we tried. Link to comment

StandFree1982
DandyDon, don't despair! It's a noble cause and you're only trying to drum up a bit of atmosphere at the game. Away games generally take care of themselves, the fans are noisy and up for it regardless. I would focus your attention on the sweety rustling home crowds! 3 Link to comment

Pudgie
Don't think I've got any left after the Hibs cup game. I'll maybe take one if I can find one. Link to comment
DandyDon KD
I don't really hate your page, was just pissing around. I and many others will disagree with this idea. I've explained reasons why. It's silly, balloons cause distractions with them blowing over the pitch, sometimes it can work in your advantage - in others it doesn't. It is the WRONG route to take. Streamers in the pocket, throw them down, stewards clear up, delay kick off and have the Aberdeen players turn and watch the fans jumping around singing for THEM, that will pump them up - not balloons. Singing and being the 12th man IS how we get behind the team. In my experience of away games, the loudest atmospheres involved in haven't involved anything barring one loud voice TOGETHER getting behind the team.To be honest you're probably right there, never really thought of distracting the players. I will stop putting up posts/posters advertising the idea on my page Personally though I still think that the balloons looked good at Hibs, but I would probably only manage to get a couple of people through my page to bring balloons and it would look pathetic. You're right enough. Link to comment
Kilkito
DandyDon, don't despair! It's a noble cause and you're only trying to drum up a bit of atmosphere at the game. I agree with this, your heart is in the right place, and you are receiving some rather unmerited grief. I've never taken a balloon to a game in my life, and doubt I ever will, and I agree with the poster who mentioned the streamers at Tynecastle, that was a great way to greet the team! 2 Link to comment
Pudgie
Why is it the case that balloons/card displays/streamers and singing can't be done together? People always say that they'd rather back the team vocally... 1 Link to comment
