fine-n-dandy
Out of contract in Summer. http://www.eveningexpress.co.uk/Article.aspx/3428071 Wants a new deal. Hopefully McInnes sees the promise in the young lad & doesn't mess about & wait until Jan (when other clubs can speak to him) to tie him to a new deal. He is without doubt one of our main midfielders for the future & needs to be put a three year deal minimum now. Link to comment
dave_min
Seems decent enough, worthy of a 2-year deal. Wouldn't lose too much sleep if he didn't sign though. Link to comment
Byrne Baby Byrne
At 21 and still on the fringes of the first team I'd be surprised if any English team came in for him like we've seen with younger players. He's shown enough to get a new deal I'd say. Link to comment

Crazy not to be taking advantage. Link to comment
dave_min
Like Grimmer you mean? Not really, he was 17 when he left, Low is already 21. 21 is 4 bigger than 17. Link to comment

dave_min
So more developed & still very cheap & therefore low risk to most Guffy clubs Not really. In those additional 4 years, he's only played ~10 games. He's as much chance of signing for a 'guff' team as I do. Link to comment
Byrne Baby Byrne
So more developed & still very cheap & therefore low risk to most Guffy clubs & the Grimmer reference was mostly aimed at countering your point about him only being a fringe player I meant Low is 21 and still a fringe player. While Grimmer was still playing under 18s, had made his Aberdeen debut and was working his way up the Scotland age levels. Grimmer had a lot more potential than Low. Link to comment

While Grimmer was still playing under 18s, had made his Aberdeen debut and was working his way up the Scotland age levels. Grimmer had a lot more potential than Low. Correct. From the perspective of teams in Englandsnapping up young players Grimmer was a much better age for them. Especially since they want to bring these lads in young and develop them into players. That said we should still get Low signed up without wasting any time as he clearly has good potential. Link to comment

He had then but (I haven't followed Grimmer) who does now? Anyway (towards both of you) would yous rather wait until Jan to see if Guffy clubs show interest & have Low then in a position to ask for a bigger wage than we can & should be offering him? or is it not best to offer him a deal now before this (possibly) happens Link to comment
Byrne Baby Byrne
Both already said we should sign him up. I'm just saying I don't think we should be worried about offering a bumper deal because English teams will be interested. And it's not like he's come in and been one of our best players like Ryan Fraser did so could expect to get a wage close to shite players like Rory Fallon. Also Grimmer is Fulham under 21s captain and a regular for Scotland Under 21s so I'd still say Grimmer has the better potential!! Link to comment

King Street Loon
I like him. Has a fearless streak about from what I've seen. Maybe a 1 year deal to cement a place in the team with a view to an extension after a certain amount of games. Link to comment

I said to offer a deal now BEFORE Jan & before it gets potentially over inflated due to possible interest from down south. It the kind of mistakes we've made so often in the past. You are arguing like there will be zero interest from down south & that we can take the chance of waiting to find out Link to comment
fine-n-dandy
3 year deal (starting on low 1st year) & increasing depending on appearances/performance in the first team. But getting him tied up before Jan has got to be the aim Link to comment

fine-n-dandy
Aye, so still both said he should get a new deal. But still argued that there's essentially no rush & that there'd be no other interest in him. My only point is to get him signed up now on the cheap before his demands are over inflated but you both seem to think that's ok (or not worth considering) Link to comment

Maybe a 1 year deal to cement a place in the team with a view to an extension after a certain amount of games. I really like him as a player. A tenacious buzz-bomb - seems to have a terrific attitude too! Has all the ingredients required to become a top SPL midfielder. As has been said, I don't think he's technical enough to ever make the grade for an English club - but I think he'll develop into a really important player for Aberdeen over the next few years. CraigHill
Not sure about him myself.Would give him a new contract as long as he hasn't had his head full of agent mince and is looking for a huge increase. If that's the case no huge loss I think. Link to comment
dervish
Not seen that much but always thought he was cracking. Defo deal from me. Link to comment

fine-n-dandy
Cost anyone over 200k should they wish to sign him so no hurry at all to get him signed as yet. That's peanuts to any championship side & most 1st division sides down south. I'd rather we tied him up now before he (or his agent most likely) comes out with BS interest in Jan & starts trying to up his demands. Makes sense to do it before that can happen. Especially seen as he's saying he wants to sign a new deal now It's a chance to see how much he really "wants" a new deal at Aberdeen. Link to comment

All I've done is gave my opinion and you've come back with irrelevant arguments each time You don't think any Guff teams will take an interest but I think they will because we are producing decent players (as are a few Scottish teams) & they can get them for peanuts. My "arguments" were aimed at both parties & your (both of you) implications that Low would not attract any interest from "dan sath" & therefore implying that there's no rush to offer a deal before they can register their interest in him. My point to you (singularly) is that I believe he will attract interest from the guffs. You disagree so fair enough Link to comment
