daytripping
According to some weather guru in the Express we're in for a really bad winter, get stocked up on candles and tinned food and you'll be fine is my advice. The worst that will happen is you can't get to work and some old people will freeze to death. http://www.express.co.uk/news/uk/436170/Worst-winter-for-decades-Record-breaking-snow-predicted-for-November It's times like these I feel for our brothers who live in the wilderness up North, the likes of Wick must desolate as fuck at the best of times, imagine it with polar bears and all the stuff that winter brings. Foster14
I live a 10 minute walk from work and a 2 minute walk from the Grill and the Stag. I'm ok for the winter. Link to comment
Byrne Baby Byrne
Surely can't be worse than this winter? Link to comment
BrianFaePerth
Is this the same article that gets rolled out in the Mail or Express each October? Statistically they will be right at some point. Link to comment
Guest milne_afc
I'm stocking up the deep heat and lighter fluid just in case. Link to comment

BrianFaePerth
Wick has been cut off from civilization for hundreds of years, a bit of snow won't make any difference. Link to comment
diamondsr4ever
I love snowy, cold winters, adds to the fun of it all... Link to comment
daytripping
Yeah I like them too, really hope this one is cataclysmic, you can't beat a load of snow, Tough guys like me just treat it with disdain, no need for blousy winter tyres just the usual one's with a bit of wheelspin for me, It's the only time of year I turn up on time for work, I like shaking my head and looking at those who arrive late with disgust, even worse are those who phone and say they can't make it. Byrne Baby Byrne
Folk who get concerned about this kind of stuff = I can't be arsed with it. Don't mind it at the weekend but logistically it is a pain in the cunt Monday-Friday Link to comment
Pash
Living in Alford was ace for getting days off when it was snowing, people actually thought it was 100 miles away from civilisation, up a dirt track, through fields, over a mountain, in the middle of nowhere. Now I live about 1.5 miles from work. Link to comment

daytripping
I don't like the word spastic. Link to comment
StandFree1982
I opened the link, realised what paper / site it was on and immediately dismissed it as bull shit. I think the fact that more reputable resources of news haven't touched on this story goes to prove how much cow feces this is. Besides, the met office can't even predict the weather a few days ahead accurately, let alone a month. Link to comment
daytripping
The Express is a good read, some of you lot just like having a moan. When Union Street is like the picture below you'll all remember back to this day, you'll say fuck! Dayts and the Express got it right, I'm going to respect both of them in the future. Link to comment

StandFree1982
You'd think if the snow was that thick you'd just go "fuck it" and not bother! Link to comment
chaos_defrost
Only thing that was tough about winter was taking the bus to and from work, I drive now so it's not so bad. Do feel for those that have to take the bus. Working outside is ok if you have the correct workwear as you get to see daylight. Link to comment

Different generation, these folk were tunneling out of prisoner of war camps, these days it would be feet up hoping the war lasts a few more years. Link to comment
StandFree1982
Aye true. I'd imagine that once the power goes out and smartphone and tablet batteries run dry folk might resurface and help out again. Link to comment
DD1903
Worst/best winter I remember was around 86 or 87. The snow hit over 3 foot around my bit. Over a week off school, with snowball fights, sledging and general merriment galore. Link to comment
