Can anyone explain how he is allowed to referee a Motherwell game considering he's from Motherwell ....... and my guess is that he possibly supports the c**ts as well.

JOHN Beaton admits he loves life as a referee and is proud to be one of the country’s top emerging whistlers.

The pinnacle of his domestic career came a few weeks ago when John (30) was in charge for the William Hill Scottish Cup fourth round clash between Hearts and junior side Auchinleck Talbot at Tynecastle.

And he recently became one of only seven Scottish referees to be promoted to the prestigious FIFA list.

That means the Motherwell man gets to travel around the world to various destinations and officiate at some of football’s top tournaments, such as the Europa League and under-21 European Championships.

In the premiership the Refs declare teams they have an interest in - I think we need to do that here.

 

Problem is then someone might notice that most of the refs come fro Glasgow and the usual Scottish football bias is at work in this regard too.

The only time I remember an Aberdonian refereeing an Aberdeen game was when the arranged ref was injured and they had to find a late replacement. Yet guys like Mike McCurry got to officiate dozens of Rangers games even though he was a known fan and refereed accordingly!

 

To be honest I thought it could have been a red but perhaps wouldn't have been given so early in the game. Hutchison's was pretty cynical but probably not a red.

Did Alan Freeland not referee us down at Dens Park years ago? If I remember correctly he gave Aberdeen no decent decisions in the first half before giving us heaps of breaks in the second half, including a dodgy penalty?
