There are plenty cafes in trendy parts of London (Old Street/Hoxton/Shoreditch etc) where you can buy a coffee for bitcoin. As the network expands and it gains mainstream recognition, more and more places will start to accept them.

The problem with accepting bitcoin is the variation in price.

 

They payment you take could be worth the half day, and also the increases make the vast amount of people hoard them for investment purposes.

 

It's a bubble pure and simple.

 

If it was used as a currency wide spread HMRC would be all over it to collect tax.
