Michael Hector - Staying Or Going?

Recommended Posts

Hector staying is completly reliant on Reading extending his contract as he out of contract with them this summer

He can sign a pre with us if he wants & fuck Reading off for loaning him out so often.

Just means we'd have to wait until next season to get him.

Think he'll be more inclined to try & get a new deal with Reading though (& high wage) & get loaned out again to us.

Either way I hope we manage to get him one way or the other

The fact we have three very capable (arguably all four although Ando's legs are not up to it as much) defenders able & very willing to get up front to help with attacks (not just set pieces either) is very promising & the fact that whilst doing this have still all been very good at covering for each other when one or two venture up forward is fantastic.

A lot of trust & good communication between our defenders. They are very well organised.

Shame to break that up even though Shaughnessy is almost as good as Hector ( but Hector still shades it in my book)

Well said f'n'd...I sometimes wonder if it's a racial thing with some of the support...The GWT certainly was brutal in his treatment of Fatty Broon , a move that went unchecked by the majority of the support...sad if true.

In that case, get Zola to fuck as well while we're at it.

Keep Pawlett & the Pikeys though

Conso must spend four hours a day just lifting weights... he's a far cry from the skinny, goofy looking plug that broke into the side 7 years ago. I think a proper athlete's physique can't be underestimated, particularly in a league like the SP(L), where shoving your weight around carries more importance than whether you can trap a football.

As for Hector, he seems decent enough, but would he come north to play for sweeties?

It's no doubt contributed to Pawlett's recent good form also cos he's built himself up a good bit as well.

Just not that comfortable there and the St Mirren boy got the beating of him a few times so he had to foul him.

You must have been watching a different game to me.... I thought he looked comfortable for the vast majority of the game.

He's a decent enough defender but his distribution is terrible, can't believe he's not Scottish.

Jesus.... people need to go back a few years, to the likes of Ricky Foster, to really recognise poor distribution. Perhaps the improvement in quality this season, has raised the bar for some and their expectation levels are that much higher. But his distribution is FAR from terrible.
