ChookterDon
Don't know how many of you guys have been paying attention to the unfolding events at Cardiff City.Anyways the chairman Tan has changed several things - the colour of their strip from blue to red and also incorporating a dragon on the club crest instead of the Bluebird (hence the nickname "The Bluebirds").They also sacked Iain Moody who was their head of recruitment, who was pretty close to Mackay, for a 24-year old who graduate who wasn't really qualified for the role and only got the job because his dad knew Tan. Anyways rumour has it that Tan has told Mackay to resign or be sacked. Now as far as i'm aware most Cardiff fans still hold Mackay in high regard and don't want to part company with him. I was just wondering what your thoughts on this matter are and where you would stand?I know if it was me i'd be raging with some foreign investor manipulating history to suit his own financial agenda - just like the Hull City owner trying to change their name to Hull Tigers as it is more marketable in the East. I can see a massive backlash from the Cardiff fans and the eventual sale of the club to another salvation hungry party. Original article HERE Link to comment
Ke1t
You have to balance business with tradition, but why would anyone change the club colours? That seems like a deliberate attempt to piss off the fans. Link to comment
Site Sponsor Dom Sullivan Posted December 20, 2013 Site Sponsor Share Posted December 20, 2013 Shocking treatment of the manager. Hope Mackay sticks it out and stiffs the boy for a very large payoff. Another case of a foreign owner not having any understanding of the tradition and history of a club. You would fear for Cardiff once the owner gets fed up with football and walks away. Could be one of several clubs in a similar position though. Link to comment

They were sailing pretty close to the precipice before this guy came in. I couldn't care less about Cardiff really, I actually think this whole situation is pretty funny. These guys like the Cardiff and Hull chairmen, were obviously very successful in their own country, but they can't behave like tyrants in Englands. It's amazing actually, that they think they can get away with this sort of stuff... telling the fans that they can all roll over and die for all they care, and renaming/rebranding historic clubs that are over 100 y/o. The Boofon
Cardiff's a good night oot. Mainly due to the sluts with short skirts. It's a great night out. Unfortunately I missed half of my weekend away down there a few years ago because I ended up in Cardiff Hospital after necking a quarter of John Carew in a oner thinking I was about to get busted. What fucking hallucinations I ended up having in the hospital. Link to comment

Guest
Shock horror. Shearer called it right last night. I was surprised how confident he was that it was inevitable. He knew better than Malky. Link to comment
chaos_defrost
From listening to him speak to the press, I think he's loving being the victim in all of this and knows that it's probably a good time for him to leave Cardiff ( they're currently outside the relegation zone and their honeymoon period is over) and that some side at the top end of the Championship or the bottom end of the Premiership will give him a job soon enough when one comes up. I think if he really wanted to keep his job he'd have kept his mouth shut this last week and concentrated on trying to win on boxing day. Link to comment
tup
He is a product of victim FC. He is hard done by as read. Good on Tan, I've written him a letter of encouragement. He is up against a Mafioso in terms of Mackay's pals but he made the correct decision. Anyone called Malky is a prick straight off before they open their mouth IMO. Good riddance Malcolm Mackay. tup
He would suit Celtic when Lennon cracks up. He canna let go of the whole world is against us mentality. Perfect for the tattie munchers. Link to comment
tightbreeks
he should've let the boss know about how much money he was going to spend, instead of spending it and then blaming the owner because he's not a fitba man, and doesn't understand all the fees, back handers, and dodgy dealings that will bump up the price. malky spent 8 million on one for the future....i think cardiff's needs are a bit more pressing. davieb
I don't get sacking the guy for the spending more than the budget, then saying there will be a large budget for the next manager. Constructive dismissal without a doubt, Malky Mackay will be laughing all the way to the bank. Link to comment
