theoindisguise
We've just booked Wonderland, we were pretty surprised at how reasonably priced they were. They all have more or less the same set list. If your looking for something different you might like bahookie but they are weeg based and I expect you would need to cover their travel/accommodation. Hope this helps KSL. Link to comment

ChookterDon
I get married in June. Is it where to get your bands or what band to get? Get ones with a curved bit on the inside. More comfortable to wear. Link to comment
StandFree1982
I seen Splash at a wedding exhibition. They were decent enough, but far too disco and camp for my liking. Link to comment

barassie_afc
I can only speak from experience, my first wedding we have a decent band, and a lot of folk dont like continual scottish dancing. We had a wedding party for my second wedding as we got married abroad, and were basically in full control of the music, every guest to a man said it was one of the best wedding receptions they have been to, but I guess it was more of a party. I think maybe band for an hour, and then get the party tunes on Link to comment

minijc
Got a wedding in two weeks, my mate that's getting married decided to send out request cards with the wedding invitations so each guest can pick a tune, nice way to do it I think. Link to comment

StandFree1982
What did you stick down minijc? Funeral March by Chopin? I love you because I have to - Dogs Die In Hot Cars?A death metal melody? Link to comment
dave_min
Surely Bodies by Drowning Pool would have been more appropriate. Link to comment
strachanmcgheegoal
Not in the toon no more so no specific recommendations. From experience you want a bit of everything. I'm a ceilidh dude personally but realise you might want a bit of variation. You've to get the blend between the music that folk will dance to and the folk that will actually get up and dance. I have been to countless weddings where the first bit is a live band and the guys have nailed it ( scottish, rock whatever) then jumped to disco and the guy has died on his arse. It might not be your thing. Your college mates might enjoy giving it large to club anthems or whatever you kids do nowadays. But like it or not, nothing fills a wedding dance floor quicker than dancing queen or whatever. Personally, the rock classics, bit of van the man and you can't go wrong. Most can do a wee set of scottish stuff and that ticks that box too. One more suggestion. If you're as organised as taking requests, return the favour and give an idea of dress code for the night bit. You don't half feel a tit doing snoop dog in the full highland get up!OOne other recommendation. Regardless of what the wife says one of the best mans duties is to get that fucking dance floor up and going right from the get go regardless of the type of music chosen. Link to comment
