Clydeside_Sheep
Judging by the erroneous popular perceptions and opinions which one encounters, there is certainly a Matrix "effect" in society though this is achieved via media manipulation, not an actual Matrix. Link to comment
Ke1t
Didn't some guy prove via logical progression that the Universe is almost certainly a simulation? I'd like to thank him for programming big old titties into the simulation. Hello, Jinxy. Link to comment
dave_min
Who cares. They should certainly bring back the phone from the films though, t'was right cool. Link to comment
bonzodaddy73
It's a mind boggling concept all the same. If it is a simulation I wonder what the super programmer is hoping to achieve or recreate. Link to comment

I'd like to thank him for programming big old titties into the simulation. Hello, Jinxy. Yup. Some guy theorised that at some point in the nearish future there will be enough computer capacity to recreate a perfect copy of the world, and enough of the surrounding universe to make the computer people believe it exists (there will never be enough computer power to recreate the entire universe, which is effectively infinite). If you accept that this is possible, and that our future selves will be creating perfect copies of the world on computers, for example to test the outcome of certain actions, then the conclusion is that we would almost certainly reside in a computer, in one of the copied worlds, of which there would be billions, rather than in he original real world, of which there old only be one. Scary stuff. ( I probably should have read the link before posting that!) Link to comment

Scary stuff. Not scary at all. we're as 'real' as we need to be, whether we're made of flesh and blood or bits and bytes. Does it really matter if we don't really exist, given we're conscious of what passes for existence? At the end of the day, would you rather be a simulatedDons fan or a real Hun? Plus... check out Minxy's titties. They're quite good, real or not. Link to comment

I spose it doesn't matter, but it would be a bit shit if we found out we were just the characters in some futures dweebs x box, no? Link to comment
Scrumpy
If you can get yourself into an altered state of higher or cosmic consciousness, or at the other end of the scale, a state of psychosis (sometimes chronic derealisation will do), you are able to begin stripping back the perception of reality. Try it sometime, it's fun. Just have a safety net or an escape route so you can get back to your own personal illusion if you need/want to. Link to comment

Listening to some Terrence McKenna might be a good place to start. Link to comment
