Bamber
Jackie McNamara was without doubt THE best signing we had made for a long long time with the ability to move the team forward. It was good to get the game against dnipro but that will be it The Copenhagen game was a nice diversion and that will be it Link to comment

Scotty_Toronto
Jackie McNamara was without doubt THE best signing we had made for a long long time with the ability to move the team forward. Me too. Could't believe how ineffectual he turned out to be. His level of contribution still annoys me. Link to comment
Sonoftherock
FFS! Where do I start! I get slaughtered on here for my prediction that Serbia would have a strong world cup in 2010. They finished rock bottom. In my defense, at the time, not many disagreed the arguments I put forward! By hook, or by crook, I didn't think the establishment in Scotland would ever let Rangers Football Club die. I'd seen Ricky Gillies playing for St. Mirren a couple of times. I thought he looked a class above. I thought he would provide the missing link between midfield and attack. Remember being genuinely excited when he signed. Also, add me to the list of fans who thought McNamara would prove to be a very shrewd piece of business. Link to comment
Ke1t
I hold my hand up to thinking McInnes would turn out to be a cheap, jakey, west-coast, old-firm-kow-towing, couldn't-give-a-fuck-about-Aberdeen, disaster waiting to happen. Sometimes it's nice to be proven wrong. Link to comment

a don in oz
Was 100% sure McInnes was a cheap default same old same old shit option. Delighted beyond compare to be wrong. Was pretty sure that Pawlett - who I loved early on when he broke through - was just never going to make it due to both temperament (a dive AND a hack) and being made of balsa wood. Delighted to appear to be wrong with him too. Link to comment
RUL
Does anyone remember the old afc chat, we signed a boy from France, Fabiano? This poster was convinced he was going to be a footballing genius and was obsessed with him... I remember thinking Mark Kerr could be a very good signing...by the end I hated him as much as he hated playing for us. Link to comment

Pudgie
I thought Bale would fail at Real, and the sale would be pale. I also backed Scotland to win the first three qualifiers in the World Cup. Backed heavier each game because "we canna nae win again!" Also backed us at Ibrox until the day they died. We were getting about 10 or 15 to 1 so I thought we were bound to win in the next 10 times we went down, and we were never going to be less than about 9/1. Fuck! Link to comment

Langfield was our number one and should have played IMHO. Doubt that he would have let in 4 that day. Link to comment

Holyjoe
What predictions did you get horribly wrong. I thought Ray MacKinnon would be a great signing for us. I remember thinking this too, but that was perhaps more down to my unwavering belief in Willie Miller's judgement and ability as a man and a manager. At the time I thought he could do no wrong, and indeed he'd started off reasonably promisingly as manager, so when he started implementing his wholesale squad changes around 1994 I still had the belief that he knew exactly what he was doing and the likes of Hetherston, Woodthorpe and Dodds would be brilliant signings. I did think McKinnon would be pick of the bunch but he really wasn't. Link to comment
