fine-n-dandy
Deserves his own thread but I couldn't find it if he already has (mods, merge & bump if he already does please) anyway, just watched his latest interview on RedTv & it's a fkn fantastic interview. Well worth the watch if you can get it. I admit I thought he was pretty poor (compared to what Í'd hoped for) earlier in the season & felt he wasn't bringing as much to the team as I'd hoped/expected but second half of season he's been fkn inspirational for us & that is not an under statement.I can only assume his fitness was not that great in early season & the fact that he got injured right at start obviously had a lot to do with that.Robson in this mood & on this form in central mid for us is a fantastic luxury to have in our side & long may that continue. Also a fantastic player to learn from for the likes of Jack, Pawlett, Smith, Low etc. We really do have some real gems in our squad right now, quite a lot in fact which is a HUGE difference compared with the last couple of decades, where we had one or two at most & losing them to injury had huge effect on our seasons but now we can afford the "odd" injury (even to massively important players) because we have a good collection of great players that can all cover the loss of each other. Sonoftherock
I heard from a poster on here that he drinks in The Ranch, Inverurie I think you must be mistaken - I don't think I've ever heard ericblack4boss mention that the Robsons drink in The Ranch. Link to comment
Crossbow
Concur - Robson is a crucial part of the puzzle in creating a successful team, gifted and brilliant attitude on and off the park. Still has the legs to give a good account of himself. He helps the team over the finishing line even when we are not playing well. Link to comment

strachanmcgheegoal
Beating heart of the team just now. Benefits from Flood's leg work as well and likes/expects to have the outball out wide (into space FFS, I didn't even think that was allowed, 10 yds behind the player being the pittodrie norm), but in terms of the mentality of driving us forward, truly inspirational. I like the fact that he didn't come straight from celtic and did his thing in Canada first - seems to have shaken the billy big baws out of him - a bit like Hartley when he first came. The fact its his home town club as well seems the perfect fit. Put it this way, if Ryan Jack wanted to model himself on oor Barry I would not be disappointed. I get the impression he looks after himself off the park as well - all good stuff for the Fraser Fyvies of this world to learn! Link to comment
Hewitt1983
His composure and calmness on the ball is something else. If the middle of the park is becoming congested or play is a bit too frantic, give the fucking ball to Robson and he'll calm the team right down and pick out the correct pass. He's been superb for us and hope he has at least another season in him. Link to comment
muttonhumper
Marvellous attitude. Barry Robson has no plans to hang up his boots and is confident a new deal can be agreed to keep him at Aberdeen. The 35-year-old's contract expires at the end of the season but boss Derek McInnes has previously made it clear that he wants the midfielder to stay. And Robson has no worries about sorting out an extension after playing a major role at Pittodrie this season."I still feel fit and fresh and I've played around 25 games and that was with an injury I had at the start of the season," Robson said in the Daily Rectum."I still get about the pitch and feel I can still contribute. So why not keep going?"It's a great club to be at. We've won a cup, there's excitement around the place. We have a good management team and great players."I'm enjoying being along for the ride and I'd like to keep going."We have brought some success to the club but we need to bring more and I am focusing on trying to achieve that."Robson has enjoyed working under McInnes since joining Aberdeen last summer, having had a short stint with Sheffield United at the end of last season. He added: "Hopefully we can sort something out. I'd love to stay and I'm sure the manager would like me to stay but there's plenty of time for that."It won't be hard to sort out, We've had a discussion about it. He'll tell me what I'm getting and I'll sign it. I don't have an agent."It's not about money. I love playing under the manager and (assistant boss) Tony Docherty. I am massively impressed with them and I'm more than willing to stay." 10 Link to comment
strachanmcgheegoal
Agree. Assuming they want a contract I'd offer both 1yr ones (would they want longer?) on the basis that we have Considine and Jack/Low coming through as able replacements who are always learning. Their experience for the earlier European rounds would probably pay for them in itself! Link to comment

a don in oz
I love the "He'll tell me what I'm getting and I'll sign it." line. A player who doesn't need the money now, not in it for the money but for the game. Very happy at that. He's been phenomenal the second half of the season. Totally brilliant. As you said barassie, oh to have had him a few years ago but even though if he can keep his performance level for even 60 minutes in a game he'd be worth it imo because in those 60 minutes he's the boss. barassie_afc
Technically he is head and shoulders above most on the park, Celtic included Link to comment
diamondsr4ever
not only impressed with him on the park, also when he was on the box, a must 18 month contract, as he will be valuable to the young players, wrap him up for 1/2 the season. 1 Link to comment
Sheep#1
United last week and the Celtic cup game, he was immense. They are just two stand outs though, consistently good. Think he has the attributes for the makings of a good manager too. Funny when you think back not so long ago, our midfield was being 'bossed' by MacDonald and Kerr! Link to comment

ericblack4boss
We could have had Robbo earlier if Paterson had got the cash, strange how football goes , I k ow someone that used to deliver stuff to sites Barry's and after his release by rangers he came back and worked with his father he said to Barry "you'll have to sign for the Sons now" to which Robbo replied " I wouldn't sign for them if they were the last team on earth"I won't hold it against him though, he has been a revelation for us, his desire and drive would suggest his attitude has.
