Scott Wright.

I think that is him in the pictures of today's training he seems to be doing extremely well:

"Scott is from Balmedie, so he is a local lad and a striker as well. He too like Michael has been in the system from the U11s. They seem to be on the same wave-length when they are playing. We were across in Ireland last year in the Galway Cup and you could see some good combination play between them, you could see there was an understanding of each other's game. I am hopeful they will do well as a twin partnership in the U17s next year. They are quite good at interchanging. Sometimes Scott plays up top and Michael goes short or the other way around.

"They are both only 16 so will hopefully have a good number of years ahead of them in the U20s.

Instead of playing for the U17's he seems to be getting games at U20's and playing for Scotland U17's. Obviously doing well but is training with the first team an indication that he will be getting a chance already? I remember the same thing happening with Storie not long ago although it was a bit too soon for him. Anybody familiar with the U20's?

The boy wright has huge potential if nurtured correctly, seen him a couple of times and very impressed given his age. He's a long way to go still developing into a player physically ready to play first team. He has very good attributes though, keen to have a pop on goal, very direct runner, likes to take a man on, has a bit of flair and skill about him, can pick out a decent cross. Decision making in the final third and his physique are the main areas requiring development. Working with a fitness coach, the experience of training with the likes of flood and robson, but personally I think he'll gain what he needs from Hayes. The enthusiasm of tony doc and the gaffer have for the game, plus if the lad can see he needs to have his head screwed on and work very hard, I really think this boy could be something special.

Aero Norris...should fit in well with Double Decker-lan McManus and Caramac-ammy Smith...let's hope old Aero has a bit more bite about him than some of the soft centres currently staking a place from the youth system.

The GWT wasn't keen on the youth lads. More of a Werther's Originals man. (Hughes and Rae)

I'd like to see Wright get a chance next season

skills

Rooney, Shankland, Zola and McManus so far. I'd say it was a given we are going to sign another one.

Personally, would be looking to let Zola go and let McManus out on loan to get him in his shop window.

Well done Scott great performance throughout the tournament.

He looked good at start of the Holland game also but then the Dutch got settled & we started sitting back too much. Dutch then got a couple of lucky breaks (but they were by far the better side it has to be said) & they basically never looked back.

We did keep at them & were very unlucky not to have gotten a consolation goal, or two.

Nothing to be ashamed of for the youngsters though. They had a great tournament & silenced a few that thought the Germans & Swiss would be too strong for them.

He's too lightweight for this league. We should resign magennis. After watching every u17 game, Scott Wright has the pace, trickery and intelligence to make it to the top, but magennis offers that physical presence that Scottish football needs.

Magennis > Wright.

Just because he's big and strong..

Fuck hibs
