AFC Chat Political Survey

Clyde1998

Hi everyone,

I've started to run a inter-forum survey on Scottish politics for football teams in the country. This is to show differences, or similarities, in politics on supporters of different teams. This survey is currently live on the Tartan Army Message Board and Hibs.net.

It was also live on a Rangers forum - but... yeah...

The poll has eight questions:

  1. Should Scotland be an independent country?
  2. Should an independent Scotland be an EU member state?
  3. Should an independent Scotland be a NATO member state?
  4. Should an independent Scotland keep the Trident Nuclear Weapon system?
  5. If the next Scottish Election was held today - which party would you vote for (Constituency)
  6. If the next Scottish Election was held today - which party would you vote for (Regional List)
  7. If the next Westminster Election was held today - which party would you vote for?
  8. If the next European Election was held today - which party would you vote for?

No personal information is recorded - only your country of location (which seems to be wrong as it thinks I'm in the USA...)

The survey is here: http://kwiksurveys.com/s.asp?sid=1n5mfule5sumpov347962

Of course if an admin or mod doesn't wish for this survey to be on the site, then feel free to delete it and PM me.

These figures are update as of Saturday, so things could have changed slightly - the PDF below only covers the first question (the indyref one).

I've had over 300 responses so far from four forums (this one, Tartan Army one, Hibs one and an Aberdeen one).

Of course this shouldn't be taken as an actual opinion poll - as if I asked 300 business execs these questions, then I'd expect I'd get very different answers.

I've also working out some weighting system based on the 2011 election regional votes. This would give a slightly more accurate view of the picture (mainly because the Greens and the Socialists have picked up nearly 30% of the regional vote in this survey, but only 5% in the 2011 election).

Thanks to everyone who voted :)
