He was despairing at the thoughtThe man doesn't deserve a Football Management job if he's turning his nose up at St Mirren. I wouldn't have him looking after my FM 2014 team, let alone a proper football club. Link to comment

DrHook1903
Danny Lennon will be gutted that Danny Lennon has not had his contract renewed. Agree with the general consensus though, not sure what more St Mirren can realistically hope for. In any case, I hope they have agreed to keep Magennis and give us Kenny McLean Link to comment

Bamber
Both St Johnstone and ICT operate with a similar budget - it would be fair to think based on that, that they should have at least been challenging for top 6. Link to comment
ericblack4boss
The fucking OAF will have a tough choice to make, apply for st.Mirren job or hold out for the old Trafford gig. Link to comment

I think that's the concern.. his record in the transfer market was pretty shit as well, pretty much dismantled the cup winning squad last summer and then almost all of those new signings were moved out in January as well. A lot of those January signings will be leaving in a couple of weeks too (Eric Djemba-Djemba ). Don't think they really trust him to get things right again. I'd be surprised if they punted him and took a chance on Ian Murray really. Rumour has it from some St. Mirren fans I work with that Stephen Thomspon could be promoted to manager with Tommy Craig being retained as assistant. Link to comment

Henry
St Mirren have appointed Tommy Craig as their new manager.Craig was previously assistant to Danny Lennon, who left the Buddies on Monday after the club decided against renewing his contract.Craig's coaching team will include current senior players Jim Goodwin and Gary Teale, the Scottish Premiership outfit revealed."We look forward to our new management team taking the club forward," read a statement on the club's website.St Mirren said Craig and his assistants would have an important role in improving the club's fortunes."The initial work for Tommy will be to re-sign the players who are out of contract that he wishes to see remain in his squad, together with the identification of signing targets throughout the summer and programme our pre-season plans," the statement continued."The remit from the board is to continue the foundations already in place at St Mirren, part of which is to encourage young players from our academy to develop within our club."Tommy Craig has a proven record in this area and, together with Jim and Gary, will work with our successful head of youth, David Longwell to ensure our young players continue to progress from youth academy to the first-team squad."The supporters of the club have been magnificent in the support of this policy, we are sure they will wish Tommy, Jim and Gary every success."St Mirren struggled for spells of this term but Lennon secured their top-flight safety before Monday's announcement that he would be leaving the club.
