Please be advised that our SPFL Scottish Premiership match with St Mirren, which was due to be played on Saturday 16th August at Pittodrie, has been postponed at the request of both clubs.

 

A re-arranged date will be confirmed in due course.

We'll be playing the Play Off round of the Europa League on the Thursday before hand.

The postponement was taken at the request of AFC for footballing reasons given the heavy fixture commitment that the Club has over the forthcoming days and weeks. The Club is grateful to St. Mirren for agreeing to the postponement.

would have given 5 days off - this way they get 10 days off.

 

Also this way the costs are against the home side (us) rather than against killie

Not really. Now we have 10 days* between games as opposed to just the week if it was Killie game.

Indeed, i'm surprised St Mirren agreed too, they obviously think we are bonkers to call of a game when we'll have a competitive edge over our opponents but i'm hoping it's a sign of confidence on McInnes part that we'll have a Europa Play off.

Don't think it's got that much to do with the possibility of being in the play-off, more the fact that by the time the game was meant to be played it would have been our 4th game in just over a week.
