Tyrant
I'm "due an upgrade" and my partner wants my old phone so I'm more than likely going to be getting one of these new ones. Just need to decide what one. And obviously I won't be buying it SIM free at those prices. I think they look smart though. But it's the operating system that sets it apart from other smartphones IMO opinion. My problem is that iTunes is so shit that I wish someone else would make a decent phone and OS combo so that I didn't have to use it. No one is though. Link to comment

Aye much better paying for the phone via incredibly high monthly charges instead. Sim free is the same cost (Within a few pounds) as a free phone with a contract overall min. Link to comment

Sim free is the same cost (Within a few pounds) as a free phone with a contract overall min. Aye but if you pay monthly you're getting minutes, texts and data etc too. Or you can buy it SIM free and then buy a cheap contract (and maybe nae get as much data as you'd like) and you'll end up paying more than you would if you bought it over a decent 2 year contract. I worked it out carefully just before I bought my last one. Buying it SIM free definitely works out more expensive unless you get a SIM card that's paid for by your work or something like that. Although the prices of the contracts on this new one are unclear so far. Link to comment

StandFree1982
I can't believe how many people buy into this iPhone shite. Since the 3G or whatever it was, all they have done is created the same phone over and over again but in slightly different sizes and it runs quicker. Which is really great having all that processing power and RAM when you look at the top games and all of them could run on the first few generations of the iPhone! It's become a fashion accessory. A symbol of status to show that a) you are keeping up with the Joneses and b) you have the money to afford the "latest tech" and c) you are a grade A bellend sheep. oh and d) you can't think for yourself, which I suppose that is the same as C Link to comment
Tyrant
Think you're talking bollocks personally but hey ho. Well it was 2 years ago that I did this but I calculated that if you paid for the phone SIM free and then got a "SIM only" monthly contract over the course of 2 years it would cost a shade over £50. The SIM only deal had a specific call, text and data allowance. But if I took out a contract with the phone it was costing me about £44 per month but I was getting unlimited texts and data as well as the ability to tether so I could use the phone data on other devices. So it was a better contract that cost slightly less per month. And there was no up front cost for the phone. So aye it worked out slightly cheaper. Link to comment
