dj_bollocks
Pawlett not at his best this season, Monokana hardly given a sniff but shown promise (and hunger) in the time he's been given… Worth a start ? Or at the very least more game time a la Shankland ? RAZOR
Pawlett hasn't been anywhere near as bad as Goodwillie. Link to comment

King Street Loon
I'd drop Pawlett without a moment's hesitation.Hasn't been at the races since the injury which put him out if the final.Smith isn't the answer to replace him either. Link to comment

strachanmcgheegoal
If we can get the output out wide from Logan that we did yesterday then a more defensive worker type is required. Pity we don't have one fit at the moment! Link to comment
V for Vendetta
Some people of the opinion Pawlett should be dropped. Some Goodwillie Personally before yesterday I'd have said McGinn needs a few games out (and a rocket up the arse) The answer? McInnes needs to rotate the midfield and particularly the attacking 5 much more IMO. Too much loyalty to players in the shirt. Not so much the guys at the back, let them settle into a consistent pattern but definately the attackers, if they aren't quite scoring, creating or generally clicking together, bring someone else in for a couple of games. Works well for D Utd. 2 Link to comment
strachanmcgheegoal
I know what you mean v for v. It's possibly slightly easier for Utd though as I don't think they carry the 'obvious challengers' tag that we do, so rotation is easier (particularly when it's working which is a bit chicken and egg I accept). Plus our subs policy confirms that del is a regular 11 man not a tinkerer like Macnamara. No-one should be immune in our team. Rooney is our outstanding line leader so should be safest. McGinn is our most talented so either product or effort should see him safe. Neither has been good enough recently, before yesterday. Link to comment
Ke1t
It's in McInnes' best interests to persevere with Pawlett over developing someone else's player for them. Should always be starting with Pawlett, and if he's playing pish then throw on the loaner. 5 Link to comment

Works well for D Utd. I'd agree too, mainly because at the moment we're certainly a bit short at the back and because with a relatively new goalie it takes a while for that chemistry and mind reading to develop qv Miller, McLeish & Leighton. Some others have said it and I'd agree with them when they say Cadger will have to work his way back into the team as Brown Taylor and Reynolds have developed a not bad chemistry… Cadger coming back in could upset that a little… I'm sure he'll be eased back into the team (if he ever gets fit enough again) but as Kelt has suggested Taylor/Reynolds is the future anyway... fine-n-dandy
Haven't really seem much of Monakana but the little I have seen I thought he didn't look too out of place.Looks strong & skillful enough & seems a decent enough footballer. Other players have been given a lot more time than him to impress, so a little harsh if anyone were to write him off so early. I think given a decent chance in the side we'd have a better idea on him but if he doesn't get that chance before Jan then what's the point in having him? On the Pawlett v Monakana debate. I see little problem in dropping PeePaw for him for a spell. Pawlett has been targeted a lot more by most teams this season as a big danger man for us & that may have a bit to do with his apparent drop in form (in theory) so I'd mix it up a little. At least give Monakana a half chance. Link to comment
Redstar
When Anderson's fit it should be Reynolds that's sweating it...I was never comfortable with the club handing him the 4+ year deal...3 year deals should be the max...especially for a player of Reynolds class...he's gotten complacent and needs to up his game. He earned his deal & is still a great asset for us. Link to comment

Probably 3 more than Pawlett managedHe came on with Hamilton chasing the game, 3 goals and a man set off, easier to make chances then.Pawlett is the better player, playing below par, but has better quality and creativity. Monakana is a willing runner, but when I have seen him, he holds onto the ball too long, and runs out of ideas and lands into trouble, because he gets closed down by the other team. Link to comment
SkyeDon
To be fair, Monakana came on and did really well on Saturday, despite the circumstances. However, Pawlett is the better player on top form (which he's nowhere near just now) and I'm not sure if McInnes rates Monakana that highly. It will be interesting to see what happens re Monakana but wouldn't be surprised to see him returned to England with thanks but no thanks. Link to comment

Maybe so but McInnes needs to learn how to use his squad or they will all be burnt out for the last 2 months like last season. I wouldn't start Jeff against Dundee United but maybe in the Kilmarnock game. Link to comment

Sandafc
Monakana definitely deserves more game time. I don't get the signing at the moment, would have been much better loaning a left back if this was the sum of minutes Monakana was going to get. When I have seen him, Monakana has looked quite good. He was also signed for a million too previously so must be half decent. Link to comment
