Pudgie
16 year old kid. £2.3M move to Real Madrid. £80,000 a week wages. How much more money needs to be thrown at youngsters before things get reigned in a wee bit? Amazing move for the kid though. Give it a year and the cunt's set for life. Hopefully he goes on to be successful but what a weight there is now on the loon's shoulders. That would pay most of the SPFL Prem's club's wages, let alone for one youth player. Link to comment
StandFree1982
Pocket change for Real. They should really have some kind of restrictions on the amount of cash that clubs can throw at kids. Obviously it's a dream move for him and even if they offered him a packet of monster munch and a shot of Ronaldos other half he'd have taken it. Hopefully he turns out shit though and Real have to offload him to some third tier Spanish side on the free. Link to comment

God forbit he turns out the way of Gazza, Mike Tyson et all and becomes a circus act. 1 Link to comment

slippers
How many players that have broke through at this age have actually made it to the top? Nicolas Milan, Sherman Cardenas, Freddy Adu... Hope he becomes a star but hard not to think you have made it on that wage! Link to comment
Bluto10
Aye reckon hell become another adu/Mikel obi. Tough but to crack that Real first team.Even WR signing Bale and overhyped Isco aren't guaranteed starters. Link to comment

Chewie37
There was an interesting article about Van Basten and stress in football on BBC yesterday and there was a bit about a young player who ended up quitting at 25 cos of the pressure on him to succeed. http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/football/30854083 Speaking of young players, anyone remember Alex Miller turning down the loan of Trezeguet? slippers
haha, classic champ man info there rooney burst onto scene when he was 15?Bizarrely Nicolas Milan just came into my head the other day! He's had a massive decline and isn't even playing in the top Chilean league now. Watch Cardenas score a screamer last season in the copa libertadores last season. He's steered his career back to a respectable level, Always remember having to have the Colombian league switched on on FM just so I could bring him to pittodrie! On another note Freddy Adu is a free agent... Link to comment
Chewie37
Yeah, some player though, I remember the interview when he gave up playing and he cycled off on his bike with his crutches! Always thought it was a loan for the French guys but Miller didn't think they were any good? Probably right about the money though, similar to when Klinsmann was offering his services for a season to every club for £1m for a season.... Link to comment
Sonoftherock
For all his faults, Miller had no choice to turn them down due to finances. This is how I remember the story being told however. There was Klinsmann which was very much true, Ginola I believe to be true also - Batistuta, fake. That was where the media in Aberdeen were trawled by this site. I wasn't a member here when it took place, but it was on a thread a few years back. Perhaps someone here at the time can recall what took place. I believe K-9 was king trawler also. Charlie Allan used to phone him regarding stories K-9 would 9 times out of 10 make up on AFC Chat but Charlie wanted his story and fell for it often. Haha. The Batistuta thing was brilliant! It actually happened during the very early days of the official, club run AFC Chat (would have been about 15 years ago now!). I can't remember the member responsible, but someone was accidentally granted access to the official club account... the upshot was that the offender posted an official club announcement on AFC Chat, that we'd signed Batistuta. Absolute pandemonium ensued! Link to comment
Chewie37
Haha quality! Although considering Dundee signed Cannigia and Ravanelli at one point anything is possible Link to comment

Yeah - you are absolutely right. Can remember what happened exactly, whether he hacked the club password or that the software malfunctioned - but yeah, I remember now, he was definitely responsible. Sonoftherock
Is he the guy that does a lot for the Dnipro kids? I'm sure he comes on from time to time. Hero if it was him. Anything that makes the EE look fucking stupid is good in my eyes. Twats. One guy who writes about Aberdeen FC (Anthony Joshua) is a fucking tim, Prick. No different guy I think... SteveW lived in Korea for a while, was posting from the US last time he logged on here... got punted from here by LondonScottish and hasn't been seen since. Link to comment
