Clydeside_Sheep
I was looking at our UEFA details and have the following questions for the oldies / stattos: - our biggest win was in 1967, when we beat a team "KR" 10-0 at pittodrie. Who is / was this "KR"? - I was surprised to learn that Mark McGhee is our top european scorer with 14 goals. Who else is "up there" for us, in term of euro goals? Info from http://www.uefa.com/teamsandplayers/teams/club=50122/profile/index.html Thanks for any help. Link to comment

Clydeside_Sheep
I am surprised you're surprised at that Tbh the only mcGhee european goal I can clearly recall is his one against Hamburg in the 2nd leg of the super-cup! (hence my surprise that there are so many more). I was only about 6 when he left us, so I claim mitigating circumstances! Link to comment
Localfitbafan
Pretty sure McGhee got a hatrick in the cup winners cup 1/4 final against Ujpest from Hungary at Pittodrie the year we were trying to defend the trophy. I think we were 2-0 down from the 1st leg and McGhee got a hatrick to help us win 3-2 and make back to the semi final. 1 Link to comment

Clydeside_Sheep
Rooooooooooooney! will eclipse McGhee's Euro goal tally for us. Edit. Averaging a goal a game so far Id think that would be very possible, if he finished his career with us - but I dont think that is very likely! (you never know though). (I think McGhees goals would still be against better quality opposition though) Link to comment

Robbie Winters
The 3 goals against Ujpest Dozsa are what I like to remember about McGhee, he died to me when he left for Germany Another Euro fact for you Clydesider, The Dons were the first team to be knocked out in a penalty shout out in all Euro competitions v Honved in 1970 Link to comment
muttonhumper
- I was surprised to learn that Mark McGhee is our top european scorer with 14 goals. I do mind he scored the goal in the Champions Cup at Pittodrie that beat Austria Vienna.Scored in a game away to Hamburg as well in UEFA cup.Must have scored aboot 6 or 7 in the 82-83 Cup Winners Cup run alone? That would make you around 10 years old now, which would explain a lot about you. 2 Link to comment
