Tord31
McInnes is signed on a fixed contract until 30/6/17 I would imagine if and when he moves on he would want to bring Doc, Sheerin and Graham Kirk with him. Very expensive and I'd suggest a cool £1million in cash up front would be the price at the moment. Ruling out all Scottish football teams. Link to comment

Very expensive and I'd suggest a cool £1million in cash up front would be the price at the moment. Ruling out all Scottish football teams. I've thought about this previously. When McInnes does move on to bigger things, do you think Doc will go with him or maybe stay and give being no.1 a go? Link to comment
Tord31
Well yes ideally get £1m in the hipper and keep Doc, Sheerin and Kirk. Discussing it now is poppycock though. No scottish team can afford him and he has a long way to go to get back on the radar of english teams Link to comment

Sonoftherock
you think? surely hes done more than alex neil? Alex Neil achieved great things on a shoe-string at Hamilton. With the budget available at Aberdeen, you'd expect us to be roughly where we are right now. The problem is, Aberdeen have been totally mismanaged for years... this is the first time in recent memory that we've actually employed a competent manager. When English clubs are looking north of the border for potential candidates, I think the total cunt that McInnes made of things at Bristol has, and probably will continue to, scare clubs off. It's even more cut-throat down there and I think it might be a case of 'once bitten, twice shy' for many chairmen. 2 Link to comment

Guest milne_afc
Tommy Wright is the best manager in Scotland. I'd be more than happy if the Huns gave us cash for McInnes and we got Tommy Wright from St J. We'd have enough cash left over for a decent keeper. Link to comment
Tord31
did he? did he REALLY? what did he actually "achieve" and over what time period? first of all, when he went into bristol he was forced to slash the wage bill, so i dont think thats a fair assessment of his abilities secondly, you dont think winning a cup and making a major title charge has gotten him on clubs radars already? Not right now, no. Might be different come the first round of sackings in season 2015/16. Link to comment

Ke1t
McInnes is working for us... I remember when Pele was the most exciting young manager in Scotland. Let's not wish him away... and that's coming from someone who was furious that we'd signed him instead of Derek Adams' father. Link to comment

He took them up from the First Division (at the time) into the Premiership and had them in the top three or four consistently throughout the season. They had no real budget and were scalping teams around them. He did a fantastic job and merited his move down South. So far at Norwich he has apparently won 8, drawn 1 and lost 2. Are you completely oblivious to the world around you MT? Edit - I was actually in the same boat in thinking it was a strange appointment at first but having taken a step back and had a less narrow view of the situation, it's a really refreshing and well-deserved appointment for the Canaries. 1 Link to comment
Sonoftherock
Clueless He had a total mare at Bristol. I remember logging onto one their forums after he'd got the job with us... they were slaughtering him (particularly his signings which included a number of sub-standard Scottish players) and blamed him squarely for their relegation. They were rock bottom, eight points from safety when he was sacked and got knocked out of the FA Cup by Crawley Town. I'm sure he's learnt from his mistakes and I'd say he's certainly a better manager these days. It's worked in our favour though, because I'm quite sure this is the reason he hasn't been courted for other jobs down south. Link to comment
Clydeside_Sheep
Said before and ill say again if sevco came calling he would have a difficult decision to make, once a hun always a hun, I would agree if it was still their moon-beams, succluent and tax-dodging era - when money grew on trees - but I dont think he would go to them in their current state. He has far to much sense I think (not to mention decency). Also he will have seen how quickly they turned on their former hero, fat sally, and realise that he would not have much of a backlog of goodwill to work through. Link to comment
