Ke1t
Lots of talking right now, but this is the feed that should give 'live' data (less transmission time) of the Pluto flyby. NASA TV EDIT: Well, that was anticlimactic... bunch of dweebs talking about 'telemetry' and 'signals' and 'data', and no live images. Pictures tomorrow, they said. Fuckin' better be. Link to comment
spamspamspam
Dont think theres any live images coming from it kelt, all the data is being gathered and sent once the flyby has been carried out. Link to comment
Redforever86
Apparently the photo tomorrow is going to be 10 times the resolution of the previous one. Link to comment

tup
None of these planets have anything worth having on them so spending heaps taking pictures of a lump of nothing in space is sheer folly. Link to comment

Ke1t
None of these planets have anything worth having on them so spending heaps taking pictures of a lump of nothing in space is sheer folly. The solar system is packed chocka with the kind of shit we need to keep our civilisation going. If we can drag a mineral-rich asteroid back into near Earth orbit and mine the shit out of it then it becomes a cost-effective means of gathering resources that are being rapidly depleted down here. We also need to kickstart a colony on Mars, because currently our entire civilisation resides on one world, and all it takes is one big lump of ice and rock to land on our heids and we're fucked. Ke1t
Jesus min lay off the hallucinogenic drugs Was that all too fantastical and futuristicy for you, tup? You realise private companies are already in the planning stages for these kinds of operations, and new forms of propulsion that can make them viable are already in prototype? You're a Luddite, min... not that there's anything wrong with that. But your attitude would still see us using this as our premier means of transportation. Link to comment
reekie_dock
We are already able to travel between planets but why would they tell us about it the whole world would go into meltdown. Oil runs the world and if tomorrow they announced that they didn't need fossil fuels there would be fucking chaos. Americas secret space program stick that into google or you tube. Link to comment
