afc_23
Who have you seen against us that you just thought were a real class act? I'm more meaning players who on the day really stood out but I'd be interested to hear if there's any that had a big reputation but didn't really turn it on. I'm a little too young to remember the great teams we would've played in the eighties so would be good to hear about some of them. For me, i don't know why this stands out but I remember thinking Lucio for Bayern on our last Europa League run looked like a real leader, he was so angry with his team mates after one of our goals I had to admire him. I always thought Russell Latapy was a great player to watch aswell, feel free to slate me for either! I'd also like to keep his non old firm. COYR! Link to comment
Misers Hill
Depends on how you at your question?,some past sides would make anyone look like worldbeaters, but id go for Paul Breitner. Link to comment
Sonoftherock
Probably get pelters for this, but Kjell Olofsson was someone who used to worry me... when I was season ticket holder, I remember him tearing us a new arsehole on several occasions. Mind, this was probably more of a reflection of how bad we were in those days. Another that sticks out is Georgi Nemsadze - I thought he was pure class. Dundee had some outrageously talented players when they were being run by Giovanni Di Stefano and those gangster brothers. Canigga and Dariusz Adamczuk were others that always impressed. Embarrassingly, Christophe Berra was another that I rated. Remember seeing him a good few times at Pittodrie and Tynecastle, absolutely dominating the back line. Won everything in the air and was built like a tank. I thought it'd be a springboard to greater things when he got his move to England. Link to comment
Sonoftherock
Jesper Gronkjaer, when he played against us at Pittodrie, would've made Scott Muirhead look like Luis Figo. Link to comment
lazio_don
Enzo Francescoli for Torino back in 1993, that guy was class. Link to comment
fifered
Domestically during the last 20 years or so Laudrup was head and shoulders above anyone including larsson as far as im concerned. Saw him score v us for the defunct huns from almost on the bye line. European games I don't think that there had been anyone stand out. The last friendly we had v man United the difference in movement and pace from rooney to the standard of player we are used to watching was pretty startling and that was only a friendly. Fabian Caballero was always a player that I wanted to see join Aberdeen. There was a rumour it would happen when they went into administration. He was obviously unfit but a real class act (in those SPL days) with a belter of a strike on him. Link to comment
Bamber
I remember one game at pittodire against hearts that basically was Aberdeen vs Antti Neimi - threw everything AND the kitchen sink at him and he saved the lot, Alex Fergusson was at the game and I left thinking he's just got himself the Man U gig as it was around the time schmical was off from memory Link to comment

You could also add that Liverpool side, that horsed us 5 or 6 in a freindly/testimonal cant remember, without even getting out of first gear. Link to comment

CHOW87
Alan Gow playing for Falkirk.Quality young player. Shame he never lived up to his potential. Sauzee was different class under Big Eck at Hibs. Link to comment
RAZOR
Lovenkrands overhead kick was probably the best goal I've seen at Pittodrie. Link to comment

Byrne Baby Byrne
David Bingham, easily the best opposition player to have played at pittodrie 1 Link to comment
tup
Enzo Francescoli for Torino back in 1993, that guy was class. Not the best in their side either, that was Benito Carbone. Silenzi the forward was also technically excellent in a howling gale at Pittodrie. Link to comment
Ke1t
Benito Fucking Carbone. Little prick was the difference between the teams. I wouldn't have minded so much, but later on he said, "I wish I could play against Scottish defences all the time." No-class little cunt. Link to comment
ericblack4boss
For me lubo moravcik, say what you like that man for a player the wrong side of 30.was world class on his day, If Michel platini says he's t be best two footed player HE had ever seen, well that's good enough for me. Link to comment
tup
Goodwillie was brilliant when he first broke through at United, almost unstoppable at that stage. Link to comment
Dave Bus
Gronkjaer and klose were real handfuls when I saw them play at pittodrie, jelavic was actually very good for Rangers when I saw him (cracking overhead kick). Link to comment
Dandyesque
Luca Toni did nothing against us at Pittodrie bit Christophe Lahm changed the game- best left back ever? Carbone is a good shout- never seen McKimmie get such a roasting... Dnipros bald midfielder- Navarocic or somethin- was totally class when looking at less heralded players Link to comment

NPRC
You could also add that Liverpool side, that horsed us 5 or 6 in a freindly/testimonal cant remember, without even getting out of first gear.Oddly, thought Emile Heskey looked absolute class. Link to comment
BWG
Goodwillie was brilliant when he first broke through at United, almost unstoppable at that stage. Aye at the peak of his powers it seemed like anything he hit went into the back of the net. Hopefully he'll get back to that with us although it's looking unlikely. Can't really say who I think the best player to play against us is because I generally think that anybody who doesn't play for AFC is pish. Link to comment
