Parklife
Even the head of Momentum admits there is a problem Parky. He lying as well?Nope. There has been an issue with some members of the Labour Party. There's certainly not been an issue with Corbyn. Away fucking educate yourself about Corbyn, his history, his voting record, what he's stood for and against. As you clearly know fuck all about him. You just repeat the same bullshit smears that the right-wing media do, yet you expect folk to take you seriously? Pathetic. Link to comment

DD1903
You're revising history here min. The Tories were 20 points ahead in the polls before the last election. May was being hailed as the second coming of Thatcher in the right wing press in the run up. The Labour party was going to get wiped out and so on... It wasn't a divided government before they lost their majority. It's only viewed as the worst government in history because Corbyn has been slapping them around the Commons since the election. May can't get her main bit of legislation through the commons and can't call an election because she'll lose her job. She's totally paralysed and once again has kicked another Brexit vote down the road. I don't get how you can say she's not under pressure. Like who? Who is justifying it?It's been quite obvious for years that T May is inept and out her depth - even before she became PM. The Labour Party have just been a bit shambolic for a few years, which hasn't helped Link to comment

The Labour Party have just been a bit shambolic for a few years, which hasn't helped If it was obvious to you then you were ahead of the curve. Pre-2017 election she was popular and the public perception of her was of being a dependable, unflappable, safe pair of hands. The right wing press were hyping her up pre-election and she was the only politician in the country with a net positive approval rating in 2016. Outside the left, they fail with the floating (middle England) voter base and that is why, despite their huge vote share, they roused a high turnout of those of that ilk, who were/are appalled at the prospect of Michael Foot Mk.II getting the keys to Downing Street. Yes, despite all the hype and Glastonbury sheen, they somehow still lost the GE... And as I've called it before and will do so again, I believe Corbyn will lose the next one as well. Link to comment

Years of picking/appointing the wrong leader took its toll. As for TM, don't believe everything you read in the papers! She was the classic talks a good game. She played a game and some fell for it. Nae really sure how gaining their biggest share (percentage change, not total %, that was an error on my part) of the vote since 1945 in an election with a higher turnout means they lack wider appeal but fair enough. Yeah I'm not defending her, I'm saying the public perception of her before the 2017 election was vastly different than it is today. So claiming Corbyn couldn't beat even shambolic May so he's a shit leader is a daft argument. He has made her look shambolic, both during the election where Labour nearly made up a 20 point deficit and since. Link to comment
