dave_min
These are the best things i've found for energy: I liked some gels, but I always found they wore off pretty quick and you ended up even more shattered than before. Link to comment
dazzy_deff
Eating is absolutely key. I make sure and eat at regular intervals even if I am not hungry. Lots of gels and energy bars. Once the tank is out of fuel it is nearly impossible to refuel it, certainly in my experience.Razor will be calorie counting as he goes. 1 Link to comment

RAZOR
Razor will be calorie counting as he goes.Well there's no point in eating too much or too little. The blocks were nae bad Dave but abit more inconvient to carry and chew. Perhaps something worth taking on board during transitions Link to comment
Geoff_Tipps
Ended up going for the Garmin Forerunner 620. Link to comment
dave_min
Just entered the (ballot for the) Great North Run. £52 is a SMA rip-off. I've got a certificate for finishing it a few years back, but I definitely didn't do it. Link to comment
Bluto10
I did that years ago.Brilliant night out to be had after the race. Link to comment

Singapore Steve
Spartan Super race tomorrow. 15+k and 30 obstacles. 2nd race of the trifecta in one calendar year leading up to the Best which will be 20+K and 30 obstacles. Got some in race gels to keep me going although never tried them before, i here they are rank tasting but can really help when it starts to get tough.Only started running in the last 18 months but loving these obstacle races. dave_min
Depends on the gel. Some of them are wonderful, others awful (avoid SiS Blackcurrent + Caffeine). Its traditional to find these things out before race day. Link to comment
Singapore Steve
The gels were awful and not really sure if they helped that much, maybe physiologically they helped to push through. The race was good fun and i finished with a time of 1hr 51 mins. Pretty happy with that although the winner came in at 58mins which is just bloody mental for what turned out to be 11k and 30 obstacles. Link to comment

He was recently diagnosed with lung cancer, but i think it was his heart that finally gave up.Anyway, he was an absolute monster in the running game and will be sorely missed by those that knew him in the NE and indeed around the world.https://www.pressreader.com/uk/the-press-and-journal-moray/20180619/282411285036239 RIP Uncle Don ? StandFree1982
Running is the equivalent of becoming a Vegan. Only boring people actually enjoy it. 1 Link to comment
The Boofon
Go in but take note of the product you like and get it much cheaper online.Terrible attitude that Razor. Should be supporting local shops not taking advantage. Granted it may be more expensive (and possibly not local to you) but thats a shocking thing to do IMO. 1 Link to comment

He runs for Deveron Harriers and Scotland and is quite the machine.https://www.pressreader.com/uk/the-press-and-journal-aberdeen-and-aberdeenshire/20171206/282522953799936 62 consecutive 6 minute miles. We got a few posts in before a 'omg, running is so boring.' attention seeker arrived anyway. Braemar is nice enough. Wouldn't say too hilly but it has few surprises tucked in. Very scenic. Doubt they are making millions if everyone had your attitude they wouldnt exist at all. Link to comment
