Graeme Shinnie Yellow Card Rescinded

Recommended Posts

Quite fucking right I just wish the boss would take the 1 game ban instead of risking far worse at a more crucial time, No way they will back track on both decisions

Hearing during the International break meaning (if the ban gets increased) he will be in the stands for the Accies & Jambos game.

Can you appeal yellow cards? I thought it was only red cards.

Apparently you can if it was issued for simulation, the only situation that you can appeal a yellow.

Don't know what would happen if another yellow followed for another sort of foul? Could you appeal the red?

I'm assuming DM is appealing his ban due to the accusation of using foul and abusive language, rather than because he was right and the ref has now agreed? I would think he'd still get a ban if he was actually calling Madden a stupid c**t

Nae idea what he said however I'd be arguing that there is a big difference between him saying something like this is fucking ridiculous and you're fucking ridiculous.

He'll probably still get fucked for it either way, especially with it being a panel of Lawwell's bumchums.

Happy for Shinnie but how many cards have been challenged & overturned this season.

Obviously shows whole discipline system is flawed

Getting it overturned surely shows the discipline system works?

What fails is the initial act - I have to say that most of the contentious decisions we have had recently could have been sorted and relatively quickly with TV evidence. I can see why Bobby Madden would have given it he was very much behind shinnie into a crowded penalty area. BUT the TV camera clearly shows what has happened

Pretty much the same with collum - looking through a ruck of players and could not see Taylors foot

Pretty sure that having seen on TV both refs would have come to a different decision - mind you I would offset tv evidence against removing appeals

As for Mcinnes - think he could be stuck here there is precedence that the fact that one decision is wrong doesn't not negate subsequent decisions being taken wrongly and they are seen on their own merit. Even though the yellow card is wrong will not help Mcinnes,

Aye but I mean the whole system.

Where does the questioning of every decision a ref makes stop ? Refs are going to get sick of their decisions being overturned surely ? Pretty sure the saddos out there will have a table showing a ref with the most reversals and he have to admit he is shite at his job thus reducing any quality out there.

The reason we think decisions are poorly made is that we have the opportunity to review a decision from a number of positions or a number of times - the ref has to do it once and from a single position - what would be interesting would be to see a decision from the position of the ref. The ref has made his best decision based on the information available to him, the problem is TV is giving us additional information with which to base our decision and criticise him. Its like blindfolding your someone and then laughing because she trips over a chair we can see. Its not actually fair on your mum.

Shinnie with that view that the TV camera gave us was as clear as you could want it - but what was it like from Bobby Maddens position?

Tv had made most of the problems to be honest because we can see different angles - we should look at how to assist the referee. But once a video decision has been taken that decision should not be open to appeal. I also think that it is the refereeing team that make the decision to use TV in the game.

TV wont fix everything - there are still numerous views on the StJ penalty all you can do then is ask the ref to make his best decision - the ref should make a decision and then view the incident - if he cant make up his mind the original stands but he is then able to change his mind

TV has caused most of the issues for refs we should try and assist the ref in everyway possible

Yeah, I think I just read somewhere that the charge was for using foul & abusive language, it might just be that's what the charge comes under?

Think most clubs will appeal pretty much anything if they can gain any advantage or gamble on things being overturned? The positive part of it is that (I think) the referee is the one or can be the one who overturns decisions? Surely if that's the case it should mean the refs are then able to see the replays and hopefully learn from any mistakes. Personally I think the reffing system in football is flawed and they don't make proper use of having four officials at matches, with the ref in the middle getting all the pressure with usually what appears as minimal help from the other three.
