Having a season ticket saves you a) money in the long run and b) saves you having to go online / call up and buy a ticket every other week. I also think it will reduce the crowd numbers. I'm sure i'm not the only one who has went to meaningless games at the end of the season only because I had a season ticket. I'd have been less likely to have gone if I hadn't. Link to comment
BWG
Just do what Bradford did and reduce the cost of season tickets. Link to comment

Why wouldn't you go to the game regardless of the circumstances if you have a season ticket. Link to comment

Jigot
Does that mean you get a random seat every game? Bugger that, like me a lot of you have sat in the same seat for years, next to the same punters you didn't know until you first sat there. 3 or 4 games a season, some of us meet up before and after the game for a session. Can you imagine asking cunts next to your random seat if they're up for a bevvy? They'd tell you to GTF. Unless it was Bloots.;-) Link to comment

Chewie37
Might be okay for English teams where their income gets a huge boost from tv monies. Scottish clubs tend to rely on season ticket money for running costs for the entire season. There's probably different ways for us to get in money for similar options to season tickets, which I think we try some already? I've not looked at them for ages because I'm never sure when I can make games or not Link to comment

I'm sure i'm not the only one who has went to meaningless games at the end of the season only because I had a season ticket. I'd have been less likely to have gone if I hadn't. I'm not sure but I think the idea is you pay x amount per month and get to attend all the league games. Club will like it as instead of getting one lump sum and having to collect 1 large lump sum every 12 months and wont have to collect every year so saving them money and also spreading their income across the entire year but for fans if in February you have 3 matches in a month you pay x amount, but equally in June when there are no games you will still be paying the same amount so the club still have an income But then come April or May they don't need to have a campaign for season ticket sales as it keeps rolling over, SO you would still go to your meaningless games Think its an interesting idea actually - I'd be happy enough paying a monthly direct debit instead of a yearly season ticket. 1 Link to comment

It would be full of problems.Direct debits getting cancelled, then restarting randomly (or not randomly end of the season/start of the next). Club not guaranteed the money in the same way as a season ticket. Sounds a bit gimmicky from Hull. Link to comment

Cant argue with any of that either Suppose from the fans side it comes down to would you cancel and restart or just leave it ongoing? How may times have you though of cancelling skysports over the summer as there is no football on and never actually done it? I would also guess they have a few fans who buy tickets via finance from a 3rd party provider and they would be bringing that all in-house Interesting experiment - be interesting to see how it worked, I'm pretty sure I would take it up if it was trialled here Link to comment

The TV companies would rather punters paid their telly subscriptions than give money direct to their clubs. One day, a great big shit bubble will burst and I for one look forward to it. Chewie37
I wonder if more folk would be likely to take up a 'season ticket' if it was spread out over the season by monthly payments. And would it benefit the club financially? There's obviously pros & cons. Could we eventually see contactless payment gates at matches too? I think that could be a winner and maybe less hassle than doing the smart phone tickets? Link to comment

The Boofon
What's the difference in price overall regarding buying a ticket every game and buying a season ticket? Using an adult going to South Stand as the comparison between PATTTHYTATG and a season ticket. Link to comment
zander
Does it not work out at about £19 per game with a season ticket. Link to comment

Saving doesn't add so much if you miss a game through illness or holidays away. Miss a couple and PATT (the other acronym was too long) becomes more attractive. Link to comment

Chewie37
Paying money at the gate sounds like it would work well. Means staffing though, thought all the electronics were in to save money? Surely easy to change them for contactless cards? Besides tourists won't want to use their holiday cash up on entrance fees There already is an option to do that???Yeah, in my defence I did say I wasn't sure what payment options there was nowadays Link to comment
