Clydeside_Sheep
Sports news is saying today that Brexit from the EU would mean a host of current foreign players in Scotland would not qualify for work permits. It was said that club signing policies would have to change and Brexit could "radically change" Scottish football in this way. While football isnt likely a good reason to vote one way or the other - in the situation where Brexit did happen, would this not ultimately be good for Scottish football? In terms of giving Scottish youth a chance and development etc? Link to comment
BrianFaePerth
This wouldn't affect the bottom three divisions which have fundamentally only Scottish players with the odd Englisher/Irish thrown in. My first thought is where would Celtic and The Rangers pillage from if they canna get some buffoon fae bongo bongo land for £40k a week? The likes of Hibs and United will be told to bend over on a more regular basis. Link to comment

Guest RosemountRed
If you're going to vote on the EU referendum with football in mind you're a moron. 2 1 Link to comment
spamspamspam
same folk that claimed there would be check points at the Scottish border now claim that there will be very little difference in borders and no knock on effect to those already working here if the UK leaves Europe bar being able to keep the Romanians out so the Polish can keep their jobs. I find the hypocrisy rather amusing Link to comment

dave_min
But if we weren't in the EU we could make up any rules we wanted for work permits. 2 Link to comment
BWG
Considering the evidence is completely in the favour of Derek McInnes (i.e. the decision that led to his understandable reaction was contrived and wrong) it should never have got to this stage. The SFA can take a fuck to themselves. Why has Bobby Madden not came out (not in that way though) and admit he got it wrong? 1 Link to comment

I find the hypocrisy rather amusing Spot on Spammer. Its hilarious watching the unionists who harped on about how terrible it would be for Scotland to leave the UK now completely reversing all their arguments to make them into positives for leaving the EU. Duplicitous fucks. 1 Link to comment

Dandyesque
It would affect the EPL too- inflating the value of homegrown players and creating more demand for Scottish players Link to comment

tup
Hamilton seem to be the only club giving a fuck about this. Scottish football has far bigger issues than this sort of pish to contend with. Link to comment
V for Vendetta
As someone said it doesn't really make much sense to assume anything as we have no idea what the work permit regulations would be if the UK left the EU. Also as the EU players have moved her under EU freedom of movement, they are EU citizens and as the UK is part of the EU Zone, it might be argued that they are therefore technically UK Citizens in the event of an exit or at least have a legal right to remain. Wouldn't be surprised to find they are all given work permits for 5 years, no questions asked. Link to comment
V for Vendetta
Besides if this was a real issue instead of some made up shite from newspapers run by multi billionaire neo liberals working to their own agendas, then its the loss of plumbers, builders, painters, plasterers, lorry drivers and hookers we should be worried about not some shite football players.
