Fort Mcmurray Fires, Alberta

Recommended Posts

Anyone see the fires devastating Fort McMurray in Alberta? The whole town of nearly 80,000 had to be evacuated yesterday due to forest fires. One neighbourhood has already lost 80% of the homes to the fire. The videos coming from there are insane. Some oil companies who run operations near there are cutting back on production and opening their construction camps to house those displaced.

it's pretty horrible. driving out of town through fire has to be scary as hell.

and it's expected to be worse today. with still high temps and high winds.

BC it also experiencing a hot, dry start to the summer: there's currently 48 fires burning and 4 evacuation alerts in effect.

so they have no firefighters to lend Alberta.

it looks like it's going to be a very long summer this year for some.

A fairy substantial amount to be potentially off the market for a sustained period...have they said who...I mean how the fire started?

Fake drama?

It's dramatic and stressful enough being flooded out, must be heartbreaking getting your house and everything you own burnt to the ground.

Typical attention seeking shit from an oik who, when he hears a police car going past, feels the need to post the dramatic event on here.

It's only a big drama if you are materialistic in nature.

Both houses and things can be replaced.

So spare me the big violin. Nobody is hurt as I said.

Also I dont get excited by police sirens.

Too busy typing/thinking up shite to post on here to worry about trivial things.

Yeah I get what yer saying min.

Just wait until the day comes when those folks that have lost their homes accidentally post a lassie's name as their facebook status instead of searching for their profile, then their online pals take the piss on a football forum, then they'll know what a real drama is!

^ Closer to the truth than one might think. Since mid 18th century, 1.5 million Scots have emigrated to Canada.

Most settled on the eastern seaboard, New Scotland etc.. with the promise of land for all, work aplenty...

It was really a UK government incentive to repatriate colonies and at the same time thin out the Jocko's by giving them a shilling and shoving them on a boat never to be seen again.
