Good interview with him on Radio Shortbread on Saturday when I was driving south. Speaks well. Seemed to have a good balance between motivational - getting the best out of the situation they (Norirln) are in without making excessive unrealistic demands on a squad that is essentially shite.

 

Interesting bit about him not getting the Hibs job as basically promised to him (don't know if it was the Butcher or Hughes appointment?). Interviewer saying, more than once in an annoying I know something you don't know way, that someone big in the Scottish game deliberately put out a rumour that he had a drink problem when managing Shamrock Rovers - didn't seem to be to spite O'neil per se, the BBC guy more or less said it was because of vested interests in whoever the other party was that eventually got the job. That is the sole reason they qualified. They are pish.

The hardest team they had to play was Romania.
