Wes Burns Signs

Recommended Posts

Aberdeen boss Derek McInnes was close to clinching a loan deal with former club Bristol City for promising young striker Wes Burns on Wednesday night.

The Wales Under-21s international spent part of last season with Fleetwood Town, scoring five goals in 14 appearances for the League One club.

He is also highly rated that Chris Coleman included him in Wales’ 29-man preliminary squad for the European Championships.

DM may have signed Storey with the intention to play on the wing with Burns, Rooney and Stockley to be our three forwards. Still can't believe with Cammy Smith out on loan and potentially both Flood and Pawlett away we still have not addressed the Centre mid fiasco. We are crying out for a commanding midfielder and I'd also say we need a centre back too.

I was saying elsewhere that two more signings would be great and could make us a proper squad team. We have a decent looking attack brewing, just a couple more pieces to the jigsaw and it could be a great season.........maybe

To be honest two signings is the minimum we could get away with. We need desperately a new central midfielder and central defender.

Not quite the centre half or central midfielder everyone was looking for? I'm just home from work, so no idea if anything else is happening?

A replacement for Smith. Clearly doesn't rate Shankland which I can fully understand.

Floods departure may spark the central midfield signing.

We don't need a another striker ffs.

As Razor says, probably a replacement for Smith and Shankland will likely go back out on Loan.

We do need another midfielder, but Smith never got a look in and O'Conner can play in midfield. We have Jack, McLean, Shinnie, McGinn, Hayes , Flood (for now), Storey and O'Conner that can cover midfield spots. I think we still need a hard man midfielder, but we've certainly got numbers for midfield positions.

Strikers, we have Rooney, Storey, Shankland, Stockley and potentially this new boy. Shankland will be punted back out on loan, so that gives us 4 players in the forward positions. That's healthy competition.

Apparently he is a striker/winger.

I thought that was what Storey was signed for?

It has been very clear in the last couple of seasons that we've lacked options from the squad and been very one dimensional. Can only assume he is now identifying this.

Yeah, but I'm not sure there is a need for 2 players to fit the same role when we have glaring issues elsewhere.

Competition can only be a good thing though. Hope he does the business.
