manboobs109
I was thinking about heading along to it on the Saturday but it'd be £160 for me and the Mrs which is pretty fucking steep imo, defo one for the enthusiasts. Link to comment
roosterbooster
I never said it was a con, all I said was that with golf betting the dead heat rules are a killer even if you have enhanced places, dead heats are a killer, took £1090 off a world cup bet of mines that won but hey ho. Deadheat rules are pretty fair and common sense - if 2 a tied on same place you half your stake, 3 its 1/3 your stake etc, but bookies are still paying out on 100% the place ie its 2 x 1/2s that are placed gt paid 3 x the 1/3, 4 x 1/4 etc Link to comment

Reed or deed
Absolute bollocks. If the conditions stay as they have been these players will destroy the course. Rock hard fairways giving them extra distance off the tee and watered greens making their shorter than normal approach even easier. Coming down a club or two to avoid going too long into a burn they wouldn't usually be able to reach anyway has no effect. Is that right, how much water do you think the greens have had exactly? And what happens if it blows 30 mph?Hardest conditions in golf. minijc
What World Cup bet was a dead heat?Team top scorers, Sane and Eriksen were the dead heats. Link to comment
tightbreeks
I went on the Saturday the year paul lawrie won. After the last group went through, I had a wee look from one of the championship tees. All you saw was rough and the tops of the fairway bunkers. It was a beast that year. Link to comment
The Buzzard
Zach Johnson and Patrick Reed is likely where my money will go. Maybe even a wee nostalgia bet on Harrington e/w. Edit: put a K instead of an H on the end of ZJ's forename. Link to comment

Snedeker, Koepka and Fleetwood have all already said the greens are soft. "Opposite of the US Open" was even used. Aye sorry forgot wind only exists at Carnoustie. Link to comment
tiktak
With a low wind there will be some very low scoring. They've already said the greens are soft and the rough isn't too bad so there's not much else to stop them. Low wind and hard fairways will turn it into a pitch and putt competition. Link to comment

Aye sorry forgot wind only exists at Carnoustie. Fair enough, i’m in Majorca drinking beer and watching women in bikinis most days at the minute. Haven’t been keeping tabs so shouldn’t have really commented. Should be a cracking watch then in that case. Link to comment

thedandydon
Reckon it’ll be a European who walks away with the Claret Jug this time. Bets on Cabrera Bello, Rahm and Molinari. Random e/w on Langer too, still playing well on the seniors and could be this years Tom Watson. Link to comment
Arabian Knight
Carnastie lookin in gade shape, sunscorcht fairways n lush brillo pad greens. Thil nae git it easier Needin the wind tae pik up fir some drema Link to comment
tightbreeks
The parking they have. In the fields and then a bus to the course. That was the way it went 20 odd years ago. It took us about 5 hours to get on the road and out of the field. Must be the reason they don't hold it at Dornoch.no room for the public and their cars. Link to comment

strachanmcgheegoal
European : Fleetwood or McIroy. Can see them in a last day group feeding off each other. Yanks: Spieth or Johnson. Hard to say if Kisner will cope. Kick in the arse on 18 last night might just be the reminder he needed and his has come early. Apart from wind as always the other weather to watch is wet. Spieth and McIroy are all over the course but are getting away with it because the rough isnt playing tough at all. Link to comment

minijc
7 of my 8 made the cut, 2 are tied 3rd, 3 tied 18th and another 2 in the top 40 so things are looking decent enough, needing Eddie Pep to have a good day maybe push in the top 10. Link to comment
