its shite because it is just a lottery, there's no form or background to go on. You can win shitloads on it on the likes of betfair and coral if you play sensibly silly.

I only ever do 10p combination tricasts (60p in total). You can get 6000+/1 if 3 high odds horses come in and as these things are almost a lottery the do come in quite a lot. I only pick horses that are 10/1 and above, chuck in a 16/1 and a 33/1+ and if it comes in you're getting a £600 for 60p.

I've landed it a few times on both the virtual horses and dogs. I'd say doing it that way I'm well up on them over the course.

I'm off the nags and dogs for the moment though, spending my gambling time cleaning up on the poker freerolls. Won just over $4000 last week.

What site do you play on spam? Gave up poker after a few really bad beats a couple of years ago but thinking of getting back into it. Always used to play pokerstars but might as well get a new sign up bonus.

I'm mainly playing on coral. They have hourly £5 winner takes all freerolls and hourly 1pt all in to give you a £1 ticket for the twister poker. If I win the fiver I'm then using that to register for the £1 and £3 tournaments. Getting closer with those but the players on there play a lot looser than the likes of partypoker and 888. Less yanks, more gamblers. You get beaten on the river a lot more on coral and williehills than you would on the likes of 888. Just have to adapt your game and play the percentages. It all costs nothing though so any win is a bonus and it gets me practicing again. Its been years since I played as well so I'm shaking the cobwebs off.

It was partypoker I won the most on last week. They gave me a $22 ticket for the $75000 tournament and a $5.50 ticket for their weekly $7500 tournament. Registered late to the $75000, finished 2nd and got just under $4000. Finished in the top 20 of the $7500 and picked up a couple of hundred.

I use tournament indicator to help me calculate the odds but most of it is working out the players your playing against and playing them. Its easier to bluff on the sites that have more Americans than Europeans.

Might take that route back in. Played a couple of tournaments on Pokerstars last month and was surprised how aggressive everyone was. Surely money to be made just sitting trapping, obviously you need the cards though. Used to really enjoy poker but mentality has a lot to play in it. Got stung with a few bad beats and starting expecting bad luck so played accordingly and unsurprisingly lost a few quid. Hopefully the break will have done me good.

I'm fucking balls at poker!

I rate a punt on the virtual games though. Nae fucking about and it's all for fun. The football is usually good for the favourite winning but like has been said before it's just a lottery. More fun for me than roulette!

The higher the tournament pot and the further into the tournament you get the less of that you see. When it gets to the money the players are looking to get as much as they can so most play in a more readable way.

You just have to be patient, play the odds and watch the morons that take on the all in's to see what those guys are actually doing it with. The amount of people that go all in with an ace or 8 9 suited at the start of tournaments is nuts. You can get the same guys to go all in against you when you have a good pair and and hit a set on the flop if you bait them correctly later on.

I dont change my strategy any more, thats when you either get loose because you're getting hit on the turn or get guarded and dont win when you should. I change the way I bet obviously to throw people off and to fuck up their trackers but learned a long time ago not to stop going on cards I normally would or to chuck it in with cards I normally wouldnt.

The casino is a good place to get your mojo back. Watch some of the cash games and sit on a table with a bully and a stack. Most of those guys are idiots with too much money and not a lot of sense so they think throwing their chips on the table at any hand will scare people off. Easy pickings.

I'm contemplating jacking my job in to play poker full time again. Done it for a spell before FullTilt went the same way as the huns.

Dont know if I could do it full time, its a lot more tiring than working for a living.

Nae sure what you do for a living, but in the last 3 weeks I've done 93, 87, 86 hours. I'd personally rather be at home with the feet up running circles round Russian and Asian window lickers.

Pretty much sit with my feet up at home building excel models and plans so English window lickers can get assessed for windowlicker benefits.

That just sounds as complicated as fuck. You obviously know what you're doing .

How long would it take a beginner to get a good grasp of the game ?

The actual game itself is a piece of piss, it's the betting that is the difficult part. Every site has play money games that are free but you can play for pennies and the edge of a real prize makes them more worthwhile.

Its like everything, you pick it up as you go along.

Hard parts are working out what the chances of there being hands that can beat you, working out by the way people are betting if they have those hands and controlling yourself when you have the best hand available to make sure you get all you can from it.

There's the bluff and the bully to work out as well but that just comes with time.

The free games, freerolls and play money are a good way to start.

The freerolls are good fun, I was playing quite alot of them last year when I had my broken ankle and had fuckall to do, was easily getting over 5000 hands a day in which really sharpens your game, I'm looking forward to getting rinsed in Vegas in 5 weeks though, that should be a laugh.
