DelMonte
This is the most stupid post I've ever seen on here. Take a bow min because that's some fucking accolade to have.Absolutely shite over two legs, the only dons player who managed to achieve that. You keep worshipping him like he's some God, he scores goals against Kilmarnock but he's not cut out for the higher level games. Worst post ever? He missed 3 sitters including the penalty. Score one and we got extra time at least. The penalty miss isn't really my problem, can't agrue with his record. But he was absolutely shite over both games, no doubt. 3 Link to comment
RAZOR
Performance aside, I must be going mental. But hearing not a peep out the away end during the silence made me feel proud to be a dandy. Irrespective of how anyone feels it was a tribute and you all acted with dignity and decorum. A rarity you never hear of because of the way the Weigyarse cheeks behave.Quite amazing really given 80% were Bealed oot their nut. My jaw was in Belarus last night. Support has been excellent and made us all proud. We'll move onwards with heads held high. Good post min. COYR! Link to comment
King Street Loon
McInnes complaining aboot the ref nae allowing any form of contact.Just a minute after Taylor was penalised and warned for leading with the elbow, what does Mcinnes do, he puts on Stockley.Sorry but that was a decision which should have been put on hold for 10 minutes. Not just the players but McInnes needs to learn from this too.[\quote]I kind of agree with this to an extent. As harsh as it was on Stockley McInnes should have maybe saw I coming. I said it to the bro in law when the sub happened. Link to comment

Tommy
I agree that Stockley coming on as early as that was a shock. We lost because we didn't win at home. The ref was a disgrace, Proper fitba starts this weekend.COYR Link to comment

He's been shite for the last two games, he should be afforded some slack considering what he has contributed to this club since he got here. Are you the guy from a while back who said Rooney doesn't do enough for the team? I'm struggling to see any worship of Rooney here. Link to comment
DelMonte
Can't argue with that Winning the pen was the only thing of note he did tonight, though he did set up Hayes goal in the first leg Two things Must try harder/be better.Aye brilliant assist last week. What an eye for a pass. Link to comment
Jds192
As many chances as Rooney missed he played well in first leg when he and Stockley battered them in air. He also won the pen and set up equaliser in first leg. Link to comment

vanderark14
thing is mate, in a 2 leg affair, you cant afford a "couple of out of character performances" - hence the guy saying maybe he is suspect at this level put it this way, over the 2 legs, you cant argue that - fact alone he changed his tried and tested pen routine shows he had doubtsNo argument from me on his performance tonight Del monte has a thing for Rooney, have a look back at his posting history and see what I mean. northernlights
I had thought going with Stockley and Rooney might prove to be a mistake. That decision was based more on the pattern of the first game than how the game was going on the night. Stockley's first booking sent a clear warning to me that he was in danger of being sent off. Although it was absurd, I wasn't surprised when the ref did so. I agree with many that we were the better team over the two games and I think Maribor will consider themselves lucky. If I had to apportion blame I'd point to the many chances we missed over the few defensive errors we made. It seems we all saw the same game tonight and it's difficult to evaluate team performance after a match marred by such poor officiating. Its hard to take but there were so many positives over the two matches that we should keep our spirits up and stay right behind the team. COYR! Link to comment

I openly admit having a thing about him. But according to you I'm judging him on a couple of performances in Europe. Link to comment

Jds192
Should have put the tie out of sight last week. Yeah his finishing was poor and missed chances normally wouldnt. Depends if you think these games were not the norm or if it was Rooney not being good enough at this level. Link to comment

Guest the shepherd
Proud? Maribor are no Leicester city.Strange comparison. Maribor are regularly in either the Champions League or Europa League. When was the last time Leicester City qualified for Europe prior to winning their league last season? Just shows you how far Aberdeen have come since the dark, dank days of Mark McGhee that we are bitterly disappointed (some being harshly negatively critical) getting knocked out by Maribor, a regular qualifier for European Football and well known team. Tord31
Rooney clearly had nerves. Never takes pens like that. Should have 1) done his norm or 2) at least fucking welly it Link to comment

Jds192
Exactly. I just think against higher level teams he isn't good enough. Hardly scathing criticism. Maribor didnt stop him though. He won his battles vs their CBs across the two games. Set up a goal and won a pen. They never stopped him getting chances either and he missed ones he normally doesnt. So if he is not good enough at this level you must think it is in his own head as he was better than the defenders that tried to stop him. 1 Link to comment
Jds192
Also, quick word on Ryan Jack. Superb tonight. Totally agree. Across the two legs he was as good as any midfield performance seen from Aberdeen player in years. 1 Link to comment
spamspamspam
Aye I think he's overrated. I openly admit having a thing about him. But according to you I'm judging him on a couple of performances in Europe. I think some over rate him, most of us though know he's a good Scottish prem striker and probably the best we can get right now. The only way we're going up a level of player is for the players we have right now to progress further in Europe, win a couple of cups and win the league. That way we then have the cash to go up a level and get a striker that is an all rounder instead of a box finisher that scores 1 chance every 10 every second game or so. McGinn would be a better option up front in my opinion but then we dont have the support to put around him that can also score. His first season is all I base that on however he can pass, bring others in and put the ball in the back of the net. Link to comment
King Street Loon
1,We're a better team than the Slovenian mob. Certainly using the evidence over the two legs.2,Big up to the travelling support. I salute every one of you. You're a credit to yourselves and the team over your conduct.3,We witnessed quite possibly the worst refereeing performance we are ever likely to see anywhere anytime. An absurd performance. Only thing he did right was award a pen (even if we did fuck that up), but he should have let play go on and award McGinn's goal.4, Rooney over these 2 legs hasn't been clinical enough. Missed a hatful of chances in the first leg, and tonight, fuck knows what he was thinking with the pen. He'll be hurting tonight. Missed another great chance near the end. Still back him to be the main man for us though. Just needs to get going again.5,Jack is back.Outstanding over the two legs. Hope this form continues. Him and Shinnie work well together. Nice to see two looks from Aberdeen running a midfield again.6,I'm not apportioning any blame to Lewis for the goal. Shocking bobble and could happen to anyone. Just s kick in the balls that it happened to be us. I'm still confident he's the best man for the job.7,Subbing Burns was a mistake. I,d have hooked McLean.8,WTF is up with McLean? He's honking at the moment.9,We need to be more clinical and streetwise. We're learning more every year, but not quick enough. Still too naive and not clinical enough.10,Our delivery from set pieces and out wide is still poor. Roll on Sunday so we can take our frustrations out on St Johnstone. We're due them one.COYR 5 Link to comment
The Lighthouse
There were certainly some positives despite the result, including Shinnie / Jack in midfield. The squad is definitely better than last year and with inevitable injuries and suspensions that is something we needed to address. Keeper looks solid too - despite the bizarre OG tonight.
