manboobs109
Any fans on here. My favourite programme ever. Just finished the latest series and the very last line was fucking amazing, it was like the entire series was leading up to that one fucking amazing line. Class stuff. 1 Link to comment
Dal Riata Don
Never liked Southpark. It seemed to be written solely for an American audience. Beyond it being a cartoon with people swearing in it I couldn't understand the appeal. Saying all that, the bit they did on the creation of what we now know as Mormonism was interesting an cleverly done. Link to comment
BWG
South Park is one of the best satire shows around. The imagination land trilogy was genius. Link to comment
The Oxford Don
South Park is one of the best satire shows around. The imagination land trilogy was genius. Absolutely. As manboobs says, the latest series was fucking brilliant, they completely nailed the US Presidential election stuff, so much so IMO that they put most other attempts at satirising it to shame. Having Garrison double-up as Trump was genius; the 'member-berries' getting Trump/Garrison elected through the medium of pointless nostalgia uncovered a deeper and pretty uncomfortable truth about people's motivations. Amazing to think that it's been on the go for twenty years now, and is still as fresh, funny and fierce as ever. All power to Matt and Trey, but really, for everyone else, it's a bit of a showing up. It'll always manage to be fresh and relevant because it satirises current events. Do they not churn out an episode in a week or something as well? Link to comment

Do they not churn out an episode in a week or something as well? Yeah, they're right on top of current events - during the Presidential debates their episodes were coming out on the Friday of the week in which the debate had taken place. They work to templates which is how they are able to rush them out so quickly. Damned impressive. Link to comment
360
Amazing to think that it's been on the go for twenty years now, and is still as fresh, funny and fierce as ever. Lol, no it isn't. It hasn't declined as badly as The Simpsons, which went from being the best television show to one of the worst, but you can tell Matt and Trey are churning episodes out as it is still profitable. It'll always manage to be fresh and relevant because it satirises current events. It used to satirise current events, it now just uses them as an excuse to get the characters to say their catchphrase. Link to comment
manboobs109
Havers 360. If anything South Park has got better over the years. The latest series was excellent. Link to comment

At least they're attempting to keep themselves interested by changing it up a bit by having one overall story arc per season unlike the simpsons which, as you say, is donkey dick these days with nothing but celebrity cameos and watered down plots from previous episodes. I do agree though that South Park isn't as great as it once was, I think it peaked with its Warcraft episode. Still one of my favourite shows though. Link to comment
The Oxford Don
Favourite episode? Mine is 'Ungroundable', the one where Butters thinks he's become a vampire. The goth kids in that episode... Link to comment
buchanskii
When it's good it's really good (Make Love not Warcraft, Imaginationland, ) but when it's bad then pretty much unwatchable. probably about 3 bad episodes for every good 1 Link to comment
manboobs109
Fave episode is either 'Scott Tennerman must die' when Cartman gets revenge on the boy that sold him his pubes by making chilli from his parents and making him eat them or when Cartman pretends he has Tourettes. Fucking love Cartman. Link to comment

BWG
There's too many good ones to choose a favourite but "Night of the Living Homeless" and the one where Randy canna get a wank for ages and then when he finally does, he cums all over the place and blames it on a spooky ghost, are definitely up there.
