Neymar's dad is on for something like 10% of the total transfer fee for helping to convince his son to make the move. Apparently this was a large part of his motivation for doing it: this way he can make his dad incredibly wealthy without actually having to transfer money himself, meaning they both avoid the associated large tax liabilities.

Had read an article suggesting that the owners of PSG (who are also involved in the Qatari world cup organisation) would probably pay Neymar the £200m directly and have him act as an 'ambassador' or whatever shite for their world cup. Neymar then pays his release clause himself with that money, and PSG the club don't actually pay a penny towards the transfer fee.

It really isn't, although Monaco's excellent youth system has given it a bit of a shot in the arm in recent seasons.
