Milne! Shut The Fuck Up!

Recommended Posts

First he was saying that we should move on from the cheating that went on for over a decade and now Celtic qualifying for the CL groups is a good thing for us and the whole of Scottish football. Why, if he's so out of touch with the fans, hasn't he been told to stop doing interviews or to blatantly avoid answering the question?

His views on both subjects in no way reflect the opinion of the vast majority of Dons fans. It would perhaps be beneficial if he had an Alastair Cambell type minder who could kick him very hard on the shin under the table when an akward question comes up during interviews.

Or just tell him to stop doing them. Dod Yule seems capable of avoiding being dragged through the mire, and Cormack hasn't said anything daft yet.

Trying to sell season tickets and Milne's in the press pretty much saying "well that's the league fucked for the foreseeable, but 2nd place though lads, eh? How about that!"

He keeps bending over to the old and new firm. Maybe he has a contract in Glasgow to build his hen houses. Aberdeen should let one of the directors do the press interviews Milne sounds like a yokel. Neep fairmer

Go back to posting complete nonsense or DYA please.

I find it concerning that I kind of agree with you on this single topic.

He said it was good for Scottish football but bad for Aberdeen...

How mean spirited and petty would he look if he moaned about a fellow Scottish team doing well in Europe. It's normal for fans but not a good look for a chairman. I'd imagine we'd be getting similar praise if we'd made the Europa groups.

He shouldn't be saying anything if that's the case. And it's not a good thing for us.

Saying "I think it's great news for Scottish football" as chairman of Aberdeen doesn't really mean, to me, that he thinks it's bad news. He goes on to say that it's going to be difficult to reign Celtic in but does that mean he's happy for them to keep qualifying and for us to be also rans every year? I'd much rather he said that level of European money makes the league unattainable for anyone who can't possibly get that level of income.

Jesus Christ in. Do you keep stock of rubber sheets?

I'd imagine him refusing to answer a question on how well Celtic were doing in Europe would be construed the same way as talking negatively about it. Fine for a fan to do, but not as chairman of one of the top clubs in the country.

So giving them nothing to print is worse than saying that we're delighted to play second fiddle for the foreseeable future? That's not the kind of ambition I want coming out from one of, if not, the most important man at the club!

For what's it worth. I agree with bobo for once. Pudgie in massive over reaction shocker.

Comments weren't that bad at all.

:hysterical::hysterical: I knew we'd get there in the end.

Don't think he's said we're delighted to play second fiddle. He's said it's good the Scottish clubs have managed to gain some extra income for doing fuck all but it's not going to help anyone get closer to Celtic as they're going to receive £30m.

He could of course have simply said "I am here to talk about Aberdeen football Club only" This is not rocket science and it does not alienate the fans.

It might be extra income but what use is it if Celtic get that £30m+? £250k each isn't going to make the standard of football any better and there's fuck all chance of anyone winning anything now as far as I can see.

Exactly this.

It's not a terrible comment to make, but when you add it on top of all the hun stuff it just pushes him further from the fans.

What has he gained from saying what he did?

He says himself that Celtics income makes it harder to challenge.

At the same time, £250k can be the difference between signing several players for the smaller teams in the league with clubs like Hearts, Hibs and ourselves getting a decent player or two in.

Anyone who feels alienated by those comments needs to take a look at their life.

In one thread we're in hysterics because folk reported a joke made in poor taste whilst getting up in arms because our chairman said another team doing well in Europe was good for the other clubs who gained some income from it.

On reflection perhaps alienate was the wrong term when annoy would have done. For me he should have been talking up the good things that are happening at our club like the summer signings, retaining our management team and the anticipated move to a new stadium with first class training facilities in the near future (hopefully). There is plenty there to talk about in an interview without discussing the Glasgow clubs which we are all sick hearing about.

Imagine a chairman trying to talk up the game.

It's what Milne does behind closed doors in board meetings etc that I care about than a few snippets taken from a Weegie paper.

By saying that nobody will be able to touch Celtic? Odd way to talk it up like!

Aye I was away to say. Bit of an overreaction from pudgie lad and thats coming from a guy who jumps on any excuse to slag off wiggy.

Isolated, the comments aren't too bad. You add it on top of the fact that we're trying to sell season tickets as we speak and so close to telling us to STFU about the huns cheating it's all just adding up to a big clusterfuck.
