RedRichard
Very sad. Great memory of him and Bryan Gunn visiting Broomhill Primary back in the 80s. Link to comment

JuniorsWailing
I don't post much in here but I knew Neale from school and often saw him on nights out. He was a friend of my wife too. So sad for his family and friends and the wider community who remember him from 'those' days. Link to comment
Frank Butcher
The memories you have given me will remain with me until I join you, 100 years from now and someone will recite 83 team and you still be wearing number 4, you,ll never be forgotten RIP Neale Cooper Link to comment
tightbreeks
I'm sure I've havered about this before. Spain 82 should've been the Dons team, and maybe kenny dalglish. 1 Link to comment
Oregon Red
Terrible news . Back in the day he was my favourite player. Thank you for all those wonderful football times and RIP, Neale. Link to comment
Farminator
Terrible news.Had the pleasure of spending an evening with him at a charity night in aid of NECCT.True gentleman who had our whole table engrossed with stories from his playing days. the story that stuck in my mind was about how Fergie made them go for a sleep in the afternoon leading up to the final, and how he and Hewitt couldn't sleep for pissing themselves laughing about how two young loons had found themselves in the situation that they were in a hotel room in Sweden trying to sleep, when in a couple of hours they would be playing Real Madrid in a European cup final. You'll be greatly missedRest easy Neale 1 Link to comment

Guest
Absolutely savage. Seemed a solid gold guy, and one of the few Gothenburg greats to not tarnish his ties with the club a la Strachan, McLeish, McGhee. Respect to him and much love to to his family. Link to comment

tightbreeks
Is that a decko Derby star he's slamming into the old onion bag. Did Hampden not have square wooden goalposts up until the 80's. Might have a uchoob look and see. Link to comment

vanderark14
One of the few not to tarnish his reputation? What?If there's ever a thread you don't go looking for an argument. Please let this be it. You're on my ignore list but I opened this post knowing exactly what you would be looking for Let it go because this is about a genuine club legend and one of our greatest ever team, not you. 12 Link to comment
Torry Tosser
Wonderful comments on Sunderland and Hartlepool forums about him.So many fitba folk saying he was top loon,Hartlepool saying their best days were with him as boss. Link to comment
mcdougall(4)
Rip tattie He had a Ford fiesta with his name on it in the 80s In the days when footballers didn't get baby Bentleys...As a loon I was surprised he didn't have a nicer motor than my dad, who wasnt a footballer. Strange how your mind works as a kid. Petition to get a pre season game named in his honour People move fast on this nonsense Link to comment
Tord31
I think it would be good to get a memorial game on the go. Might be too short a notice to do it pre season but if not then certainly good to do it during an international break this year. Link to comment
Guest milne_afc
I think his family should be allowed to grieve first. Link to comment
Specky Ginger
When you think of the extent to which he was despised by Hun and Tim alike, it's almost impossible to think of him as anything other than one of life's good guys.RIP. Link to comment
Crashnyploshnit
The Northern Lights will be shining brighter tonight. Too often the term Legend is used but he was definitely a true Legend and a great example to future players. R.I.P. Neale. Link to comment

Chester Don
Absolutely terrible news, and thoughts are with his family and friends. A proper bloke, who just loved Aberdeen, the epitome of a true great, and a role model for our younger lads, exactly the sort of lad we need right now, so very sad. RIP Neale. Link to comment
The Lighthouse
Can`t quite believe this - had no idea until I saw the thread and wondered what he had been up to. As many have said he was a true Dons legend and a nice guy by all accounts. We never replaced his tenacious style and determination in the middle of the park. RIP Neale. Link to comment
