Clydeside_Sheep
Stewart Milne was on the radio this morning, giving a cautious welcome to the idea of a 3rd UEFA tournament being introduced from 2021. Turns out the news is older than I knew, with this report from September: https://www.bbc.com/sport/football/45483586 What do you think and is this move a tacit indication that the merging of the UEFA and Cup Winners Cups is considered a failure / bad move in retrospect? 1 Link to comment
SheepieBaaBaa
Which would have more prestige, the remaining Europa league, or the cup winners cup? Worries me that if they go this way, the "Champions League" will become a big money, invitation-only event and both of the other European leagues will be 2nd class and have significantly lower prize money and prestige than the current Europa league. On the positive side, it's more fitba to watch. Link to comment
Chewie37
Seeing that both the CL and Europa are now virtually impossible to win/qualify for with the finances involved it could be a better competition for us? Ideally we’d use it to build up experience and cash to then push for the Europa Link to comment
