Guest
As 2018 draws to a close I must admit that my pre-season concerns have been totally proven wrong, given that we ran Burnley close in Europe, reached another cup final and are within touching distance in the league. If all the top 5 or 6 teams sneak points off each other is there a chance we will have some sort of title race for a change, or, as was the case pre-season, I will be proved wrong per usual?Hope I am right and that everyone has a guid New Year. BWG
Too much made of reaching a cup final. Counts for fuck all unless you lift the trophy. 4 1 Link to comment
sooth_stander
Given that we have been shit in all but a handfull of games so far, to be within touching distance of the summit of the league is quite remarkable. 2nd half of the season, let's hope for more swashbuckle, more panache, more pace, power, points, and hopefully trophies Link to comment
tiktak
Killie fans will be ecstatic at their half season, Livi well pleased but I'd say all the others will be either disappointed at failure or frustrated with inconsistency. Link to comment
Shinniesta
We're well placed we just need to continue the good work we have generally produced since beating Sevco at Hampden (including that game it's 10 wins from our last 14). We also need to keep up the improvement in goal scoring as we were struggling in that department but have now scored 17 goals in our last 6 games. We need to keep that level up. If we can win at least 10 from our next 14 games (and cut out the lacklustre defeats to the likes of Motherwell and St J) we won't be far away. It's a big ask but we should be very confident that we can compete with anyone in this league can after our recent form. Link to comment
Bamber
Biggest regret at the half season point is the sending off of Devlin by Craig Tomson 3 minutes into the Killie game _ as a whole the team was building some momentum having gone basically undefeated in normal time up to that point. Sending of was pivotal to our half season and we went from 5 games in August including Burnley with 3 draws and 2 wins in normal time and 8 Goals For and 3 Against to 1 Win 2 Draws and 2 Loses with 2 Goals for and 4 Against in September Killed all the momentum we had going stone- dead That sending off alone meant the potential of us being Top of the league on Dec 31st went out of the window Link to comment
Zander1903
3 points off the top while playing below par(shite with no goal scoring striker, cossies last few games excluded) a good summer transfer window would have had us on top Link to comment

Logan goes to the tink fans and gets a 3 game ban for the start of the season. Brown has done the same on numerous occasions and gets fuck all.Devlin sent off as stated above and the same ref only books Boyata for a similar offence the following week.Devlin sending off appeal turned down whilst Morelos sending off is overturned.Mckenna is suspended for 2 games for a tackle at Parkhead whilst McGregor, Naismith, Brown and Morelos are able to kick, stamp, gouge and punch players with relative immunity. There's probably more but the general gist is that due to injury and suspension we've never had a settled back 4, add the fact that our headline signings in the summer window has been poor then I'm very surprised that we are one win off top of the league. Bamber
Havent forgotten any of them Ive looked at one particular turning point on our season Logan getting a 3 match ban had no real influence on our season our results weren't really changed he wouldn't have influenced the rangers game, Dundee we won, St Mirren we won.Devlin sent off ive covered. The fact that Boyata wasn't doesn't really affect us directlyAppeals had no affect we wouldn't have got the game replayedMcKenna's tackle didn't affect that game either. The decision to send off devlin was a massive turning point on this season and affected momentum - the others haven't directly affected us (maybe indirectly) Link to comment
Giarcnai
I'm happy. We're on a par with the last few seasons points wise at the same point. Another cup final which was lost only because the guys were still preoccupied with GMS injury. We've had some bad injuries, more than previous seasons, and won ugly which in previous seasons would have been draws or losses. The winter break has come at a good time and let's our players get rested and recover from injury. At least 2 decent additions in before 31/01 should see us to the end of the season. First game back after the break is a potential banana skin but same level of opposition we see in the pre season friendlies so a good easer back into competitive matches. 1 Link to comment

Also think the GMS head knock in the cup final was pivotal, not so much losing GMS but I honestly think that the players were still a bit shell-shocked when Celtic scored. Without that I reckon it would have been extra time and penalties and I'd take Joe Lewis in sticks over anyone else in the league in a shoot out. Link to comment

Guest the shepherd
Plus we didn't get the penalty.Absolutely spot on. A minor detail that was conveniently not covered by any section of the media, or by anyone I have discussed the game with. If the roles were reversed we all know what would have happened and the enivitable conspiracy theory that would still be getting aired to this day. Link to comment
