Shinniesta
What would be our strongest XI be for all permanently signed players we've had since the year 2000? My team would be:- Lewis McNaughton Anderson McKenna ShinnieSeverin Bisconti Fraser Jess HayesRooney SUBS:- Kjaer / McLean / Mulgrew / Winters / Stavrum / Robson / J Smith Couldn't find a place in my squad of 18 for the likes of Whyte, Nicholson, Reynolds, Zero, Logan, Arnason, Booth, Leighton or McGinn. Booth and Leighton were right at the end of their careers and past their best. Ryan Jack can fuck right off. Jess was still at a good level at the turn of the century and left us to go back and play in the Premiership. Mulgrew was decent up here but definitely improved once he moved to Celtic. The Celtic version of him gets in the team the AFC version only makes the bench. I've probably forgotten several players. I reckon the squad I've named would push the current Celtic team all the way. Shinniesta
How many games did Ryan Fraser play for us ?I’d have an at his peak Niall McGinn. He was brilliant once .I did consider that. But even in the short time Fraser played for us you could see he was going to be a star in the making. He kept Hayes out of the team in his first season. Rooney or Stavrum was a close one. But I think Rooney would have thrived with Fraser and Hayes at each side of him firing in crosses and with Jess behind him threading balls through to him. Link to comment
aberdeen1970
McGinn did more in an Aberdeen shirt than Fraser and his high spots were higher. If you're picking Fraser based on his ability now then that's a different argument Link to comment

I'm just thinking about how good he looked even in his short time at AFC and just knowing that he was going to go a long way. I've put him in more on the sheer potential we could all see at the time more than his actual achievements in a red shirt. Jamie Smith did more in an AFC shirt too. Link to comment
aberdeen1970
Would have been nice to have got another year or two out of Fraser. I'd like to think the current regime would have rewarded him earlier and extended his contract. Link to comment

aberdeen1970
Who could forget Derek Young at right back and Stuart Duff at centre back. We've never seen another right side of our defence like it! Link to comment

Guest
I know my selection Maddison will get absolutely torn apart but remember I'm a young loon and he's technically the best footballer I've seen at AFC. 6 month loan spell or nae that cunt was a proper entertainer. Link to comment

Often in shite teams, aye. Link to comment
aberdeen1970
Lewis Logan Anderson McKenna Shinnie Severin Robson McGinn Maddison Hayes RoodawgSad state of affairs when the left back has hardly played for us at left back. Decent side but I'd have mcnaughton instead of Logan and Jess instead of Maddison who barely played. Link to comment

Shinniesta
Aluko another one I forgot about. I tend to do that with players who move to the huns. Good player on his day but very inconsistent in a red shirt. He wouldn't get in my team. Surprised no-one else has picked Bisconti. He was a tremendous player far too good for the team he was playing in. Link to comment
