StandFree1982
I wonder how our starting 11 would get on vs an 11 made up of the rest... LewisVyner Devlin McKenna LeighFerguson Ojo McGinn Bryson HedgesCosgrove v CernyLogan Taylor Considine Gallagher McLennan Campbell Gleeson WrightWilsonAnderson Main We don't have enough defenders to make up 2 back 4s, so Gallagher is going to have to come in and cover LB or RB with Logan going either way. I've moved Logan into the fringe set up as Vyner is a better player and should be starting RB. The fringe side has a lot of pace, but got fuck all strength. So they'd get bullied all over the park. StandFree1982
It'd be 0-0 probably. I think it highlights how weak our squad is. McInnes talking about leaders and people putting in tackles etc, but looking at that second 11, and even most of the first 11, it's pretty clear we lack a spine. If you look at the fringe players, with the exception, loosely, of Taylor and Considine, it's a side full of wimps and kids. Link to comment
The Hulk
With a couple of better full backs I think the fringe side would win itThey should win anyway given they have 12 players. Link to comment
Ten Caat
With a couple of better full backs I think the fringe side would win it Link to comment
DelMonte
Would any teams fringe side beat the first team? For what it's worth it wouldn't be a complete thrashing. Link to comment
Chewie37
The fringe side would be trying harder......3-1 to the starting 11 though. Link to comment
V for Vendetta
Wait.. who is managing each side on match day? Link to comment
tiktak
1-0 Cosgrove penalty. Over a season top scorer for the fringe team would be Considine with 3 goals. Link to comment
V for Vendetta
MT and F&DNow that's made it a lot harder. Link to comment
V for Vendetta
Also do the fringe team get to field an extra player? Link to comment
Poodler
Even Max Clifford would struggle to give this decent PR Link to comment
Foster14
Considine should be in the first team. He has been substantially better than Devlin over the last 12 months. Pretty sure the first team could do some damage on a defence that contains Logan, Devlin, Taylor and Gallagher. That is if they can get the ball off the 7 man midfield and attack though... StandFree1982
oops. I was fucking around with the formation of that fringe 11 then ended up keeping an extra man in! I'd just take Main out of that Fringe side tbh. Considine would likely be starting 11. I was basing it on "presumptions" that Devlin is/should be better than Considine rather than current form. But I agree, swap Considine and Devlin, especially right now. Link to comment
The Boofon
It'd be 0-0 Depends who the ref is IMO. WIllie Collum would give a penalty to the Fringe 11. Great band name that. I'd be a good drummer for them. Link to comment
Ten Caat
Just thinking that when the new stadium opens, the obvious opponents for the official opening match would be Real Madrid or Bayern Munich. But if Milne gets wind of this thread he might well view it as an alternative way of saving a few bob Link to comment
strachanmcgheegoal
I'd just take Main out of that Fringe side tbhOh but that would...........make no difference whatsoever! 1 Link to comment

StandFree1982
It'll be Stenhousemuir. It will be Man Utd. Both pretty dull affairs. Should be Dumbarton though. They were the first side we faced at Pittodrie (old Aberdeen, rather than the Aberdeen Football Club formed with 3 different clubs that we support now) source - http://www.afcheritage.org/history/milestones/index.cfm Link to comment
Crossbow
Depends on the strip the fringe team wear - if its got green hoops then they'll romp home. Otherwise it's got 0-0 written all over it. Link to comment

The Boofon
Would be a great arrangement for Considine's next testimonial . Could be the opening game at the new ground. Free to gain entrance and pay a contribution of your choice when you leave. Crowd, 3014. Money raised £19.26.Impossible. Minimum would be £30.14. You can’t contribute £0.00. That’s not a contribution. Link to comment
StandFree1982
Bollocks. It is possible that some folk contribute 'nothing'. That is their contribution 'nothing' . Bollocks. You can't contribute nothing. Don't be an oxyMORON. Link to comment
