Surely, if the virus is so potent and deadly as the politicians, media and the do-good know fuck-alls would have you believe, you would contract the virus instantly and deteriorate rapidly, therefore whilst a test would perhaps prove confirmation of the existence of the virus, it's not beneficial in terms of improving health. A bit like if bitten and envenomated by a black mamba, I presume. Only theory though. I nailed A Black Mamba from Private Eyes. Only cost me £20 for the dance. Possibly still got loads of STD’s as a result. Link to comment

I'm talking about slowing it down. Your idea of house arrest without trial for people who have no one has any idea if they are ill or not is fantasy land nonsense based on the flawed idea we can be 'covid free' It's ludicrous. You don't think testing, isolating positive cases, isolating people with symptoms, protecting the vulnerable and treating the sick will slow it down? Strange opinion but you are entitled to it. daytripping
Melt on Belmont street announce the 2nd lockdown was the final nail in the coffin for them, thriving little business killed by the weasel. In itself just a small business going under, one of many though, pizza place shut on the same street, will be another Union street. She really doesn't give a fuck what she's doing. That's about a dozen folk out of work with no hope of getting anything else, not to save lives, no one is dying. Hope she gets crushed in the next election, she's hung Aberdeen out to dry. 4 1 Link to comment

That's just the same old shtick you come out with when you're havering shite and can't back up what you assert. You tell me how we're keeping Covid out of care homes if the level in the general level is exorbitantly high? The only way I can see is to have the care workers all live in the homes for perhaps 3 weeks at a time, with each new intake of workers having 2 weeks isolated quarantine, while being tested, before going in to start their 3 weeks. So you're going to need a lot of care home staff and a hell of a lot of cash to pay them for being away from their family for such long stretches. You'd also need to have Dr's in each home in case someone got ill. And any resident who'd been in hospital would need to do the same quarantine before going back in to the home. It could probably be done, sure. You'd need every resident in every home to consent to being essentially held captive too though. Which is probably your biggest hurdle. Definitely against their human rights there. Unworkable nonsense according to you Parky boy. The most extreme thing they could have done was shut the country down so coming up with a strategy to protect the most vulnerable isn’t as unrealistic as you keep saying. There’s many people at the moment carrying out quarantines and rotas that are keeping them away from their families for long periods so again it’s not that unimaginable to think they could put something similar in place to protect those who need to be protected. I’m not going to argue every point above, I’m sure people far more intelligent than me, MB, and maybe even you, are capable of mapping out a plan to put something in place that’s more efficient than your back of a fag packet attempt, before you write it off. 5 1 Link to comment

Japan is a country we should maybe look to for how to handle it. They've got a very old population & had less warning of the virus, yet have a very low death count. They also had no enforced closing of businesses. Although people were told to work from home where they could. Not sure how they achieved it so far tbh. Maybe fatman could stop whinging for 5 minutes and go find out. I doubt he'll bother his arse though. Anyway, decent read here in the UK's response to the pandemic: https://www.theatlantic.com/international/archive/2020/08/why-britain-failed-coronavirus-pandemic/615166/ Link to comment

Sheepo
I laugh at this protecting the vulnerable rubbish, my wife has worked on the so called Covid front line as a nurse since the start, my Mother in law at 68 has also worked on the so called front line as a nurse, neither of them have been tested or in fact know anybody they work with at ARI who has except the few who have had symptoms. The PPE supplied to them early on was an utter joke made in China by TIGER, it was so bad they were all taking video's and laughing about it, they were only bailed out by the generosity of local companies donating PPE. Both my wife and Mother in Law believe they have had it and as yet have had no offer of an Antibody test, the most vulnerable people throughout this whole affair are the NHS workers who have been treated abysmally by the powers that be Link to comment
