JmSG
Greetings, Doug Bell played for the team in the 80's, could you confirm if his position on the field was as a central midfielder? 1 Link to comment

Ten Caat
Wasn't so much a midfield playmaker...more an energetic "box to box" type who could also play further forward in support of the attackers or (rarely as we had Cooper and Simmie in the same squad) could play defensive midfield if required. Was allowed to leave to join Rangers in 85 IIRC precisely for that reason...he was behind Cooper, Simpson, Stark, a newly signed Jim Bett and to a lesser extent...an ageing John McMaster and a breaking through Stevie Gray. 1 Link to comment

I played against Dougie Bell in a charity match after he had retired from professional football. very right footed, but still had it in abundance. for him to be behind the players you mentioned means we had some squad Link to comment

aberdeen1970
Those were the days when Aberdeen players went to Huns or Celtic to wind down their playing days when they were past their best and couldn't get a sniff at Aberdeen. Will be good to read about his glory days at Pittodrie and the retirement home in Govan Link to comment
