JmSG
Greetings to all, I hope you are fine, I wanted to ask you about Steve Cowan, on the web http://www.afcheritage.org/, they report about the player, the following: "Steve was a good, solid, all-round pro for the dons but was ufortunate that his versatility, combined with injuries, kept him from securing a regular spot in the first team. During his time at Pittodrie Steve played in almost every position including in goal when Bryan Gunn was sent off in a reserve match against St.Mirren. One of Steve's best remembered goals came in the Drybrough Cup Final at Hampden Park against St.Mirren. The long range effort secured the trophy for the Dons who were the first and last winners of the tournament." my question is...what versatility are they referring to?, because it is supposed, what was always a striker. strachanmcgheegoal
Unfortunate time to be a sub. The only one who really kicked on (ignoring Hewitt obvs) was Falconer. Link to comment
Ten Caat
More unfortunate to be at the club when we had Magoo, Black and Hewitt (and latterly McDougall) all ahead of him for a place in the side. A more brutal, but honest, assessment would be that he found his true level at Hibs and Motherwell Link to comment
jamiesd
Asked Frank Mcdougall at a Afc function who was the worst player he ever played with. Steve Cowan was his answer. He said “by a Fucking mile” i didn't think he was that bad. Think he got the he golden boot one season for Hibs. Link to comment
